How do you take one of the world’s most iconic footballers and reimagine him in the @ClashofClans world? That was the challenge set for us by New York creative agency @wearedavid.ny and their client @supercell. Find out from @erling.haaland himself and the Axis team how we seamlessly transitioned the star striker into the fantastical animated universe of Clash of Clans in this exclusive behind-the-scenes film.

It was an honour to collaborate with @bethesda, @marvelgames, Arkane Lyon and @akqa to create the dramatic Announcement Trailer for Marvel’s Blade, directed by Paul Mitchell.

Atmospheric, richly detailed, and highly stylised, the trailer packs a punch, with halftone patterns and posterisation of textures made to match Arkane Lyon’s unique visual style. Marvel’s Blade is a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris, now in development in collaboration with Marvel Games.

Bringing a fresh new twist to the zombie genre, Axis’ VFX division partnered with @channel4 and @theforge_drama for the upcoming six-part dramatic dark comedy series, Generation Z. Collaborating closely with Writer & Director @mr_wheatley throughout the process, our VFX team’s main focus was to bring Ben’s vision to full fruition, providing creative problem solving and developing a range of complex effects work.

When shooting the opening cinematic for @ClashofClans x Erling Haaland, Director Olly Reid provided extensive on and off-set guidance to ensure the real life and CG versions of @erling.haaland melded together harmoniously. Together with the Axis animation teams off-set, they were able to grasp the nuances of his movements and facial expressions, so Haaland felt like a true Clash character whilst having his real-life personality shine through.

With Haaland as the focal point of the @clashofclans x @erling.haaland campaign, it was key that our team seamlessly transferred his live-action likeness into the Clans universe. Our teams collaborated with @supercell, adjusting the in-game character for our pipeline, transferring our base mesh onto it, getting it ready for rigging, and detailing, texturing and shading to create a stylised, clash-ified Haaland.
