As part of our Doors Open weekend, Charles Street Video is proud to partner with @mayworksfestival to host Rendition—a powerful multi-screen documentary exhibition exploring the lives, experiences, and movements of temporary workers in Germany fighting for better labor rights.

Mayworks Festival and @CSVToronto are participating in @Doors_OpenTO this weekend!

There will be extended gallery hours and an Artist Talk on Saturday May 23, from 1:00–3:00pm with the artist and curator of 'Rendition.'

'Rendition' is a cinematic essay by @EuridiceZaitunaKala about the “madgermans”, a group of Mozambicans working in East Germany who were abruptly sent home after the reunification of Germany and who are still waiting for the balance of their contracts to be paid.

Join Curator, Nima Esmailpour (@archeology.of.aftertime) and artist, Euridice Zaituna Kala for a discussion about the concept behind the exhibition, the artist’s relationship to the “madgermans”, and using arts to advocate for and popularize the stories of migrant workers.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A with audience members. Refreshments will be served.
