In Ancient Greek mythology Nyx was born of Khaos (The primordial Void). Couple with Erebos (Darkness) gave birth to Aether (Light) and Hemera (Day), as well as the three fates, Sleep, and Death.

Orphic creation storieswrote that she was the supreme creator who laid a silver egg that birthed the universe.

Mother of the Cosmos, Goddess of the Night across other traditions: Nut (Egyptian), Nox (Roman), Ratri (Hindu), Nott (Norse), Zleja (Baltic) , Kupalnitsa (Slavic).

This is part of a creative series of Niana’s “Embodying the Feminine Divine.” A creative series featuring Goddess of different mythologies around the world and through time, a literal form of worship.
