We work to transform environmental philanthropy in the UK. We offer specific support to different parts of the funding community:

We’re looking for an exceptional candidate to lead and develop our new funder interest group: Better Food & Farming Group (BFFG) 🧑‍🌾🥕

This isn't a traditional grant-making role. Instead, you are a facilitator and strategist.

The Better Food & Farming Lead will develop and coordinate BFFG, ensuring that funders are collaborating, strategising together, learning from the latest evidence, working towards a shared ambition for change, and not duplicating efforts.

While BFFG is new, it will be housed within EFN with the support of the team and a consultant Strategic Advisor, giving you the creativity and founding energy of a start-up, matched by the support and networks of an established and respected organisation.

Last week EFN and I.G. Advisors headed over to Glasgow to bring together just under 20 senior Scottish leaders from our Leadership Labs programme to meet and connect.

Leaders from across all three cohorts dropped by and we were so touched by their comments on the programme:

✨'The new friends I have made make me feel connected, no longer alone, nationwide.'
✨'Great experience and great fun.'
✨'The most significant long-term benefit has been the people I've connected with. Through the Lab, we have moved on to partnering and collaborating on new projects.'

Part of our ‘Stepping Up’ series, our trustee, Liz Gadd, delves into insights from Johan Rockström on leadership in philanthropy as we face the environmental and biodiversity crises.

Inspired by Johan’s insights, Liz believes we need to change how we live to adjust to our changing climate and to stop fueling environmental damage at the same time. But we can also choose a path forward that improves lives at the same time and funders can be part of that journey.

As Liz says, all us, including philanthropists, “have an incredible opportunity to address historic inequity through fair action on climate change.”

EFN team members, Oscar and Aliyah attended the 12th plenary meeting of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) in Manchester. The event brought different stakeholders, including international government representatives, scientists, Indigenous knowledge holders, and NGOs together, with the main aim of reviewing the new Business and Biodiversity Assessment.
