Thrilled to share @tmagazine post presenting our home, a conceptual manifestation of our version of urban domesticity. Activating the space in-between our objects, works of friends, collaborators, and of figures we admire.

‘The architects @elenipetaloti and @leonidastrampoukis, the founders of the architecture firm @lot_officeforarchitecture and the design studio @objects_of_common_interest, had long wanted to create a home that could function as a living organism, constantly adapting to different situations and moods.

Soon after closing on their Brooklyn townhouse, they ripped out the interior walls to expose its original brick surfaces, later painting them white, and tore down all the dropped ceilings to provide more uninterrupted space between floors. Metallic vinyl curtains conceal and divide spaces on the second floor, while the third-floor living room is anchored by a low-slung white modular sofa from @paulinpaulinpaulin. The couch’s nine modules are often assembled as a monolith (seven feet wide and deep), but have been reconfigured in innumerable ways. Above it, beside a three-foot-tall Isamu Noguchi pendant lamp, hang a trio of disc-shaped speakers in purple, pink and brown: bespoke creations by the New York audio company Oda (@odaislive).

Finalmente ci siamo!

PS. Qual è la prospettiva più bella? Vogliamo vederla nelle vostre stories! Ricordate di taggarci per essere repostati ❤️

One year ago opened our solo show ‘Objects of Common Interest: Hard, Soft, and All Lit Up with Nowhere to Go’ at the Noguchi Museum.

Describing the relationship between Noguchi and OOCI’s works, Senior Curator Dakin Hart writes: “What is so interesting about the things Objects of Common Interest makes is that despite often having no explicit, or essential, purpose, and even though their works are clearly in search of something more than function and attention, they never wander far from an unidentifiable usefulness. It’s in those in-between states and zones, free from any particular requirement, that Noguchi’s thinking thrived.” Learn more about the exhibition: noguchi.org/ooci

Dooor @ @alcova.milano 2026
Threshold — @objects_of_common_interest

A soft perimeter, a suspended interior.
Through Dooor textile partitions, Threshold turns separation into a gesture of calm.

Light filters, surfaces soften, the body slows down.
Architecture becomes temporary, delicate, open.

A boundary that does not close the space, but gives it time to breathe.

Threshold — Objects of Common Interest

L’architettura diventa temporanea, delicata, aperta.

VOLUMES OF STILLNESS

This year we’re happy to present a new installation at Nilufar Depot, a continuous interior landscape of rounded volumes and saturated surfaces, where light becomes a material.

Soft & Tender Topographies by @objects_of_common_interest

On view through Sunday, April 26th
10:00 – 18:00
Valextra, Via Manzoni, 3

An exploration of materials and dimensions, Soft & Tender Topographies is a study of playful perception and inherent tactility that exudes Valextra’s distinctive Milanese attitude.

Retreating into the back of the boutique, Objects of Common Interest’s exclusively commissioned Metamorphic Rock stools extend the topography into a habitable zone that celebrates the notion of objects as both works of art and everyday essentials.

Dooor @ @alcova.milano 2026
Threshold — @objects_of_common_interest

Space is shaped by a minimal gesture.
Dooor textile partitions trace a mobile perimeter, defining subtle thresholds that do not close, but suggest.
You enter, you slow down, you stay.

Between diffused light and soft surfaces, architecture becomes a suspended presence.

Here, the boundary does not divide: it welcomes.

Instagram
