A true architect of London's jazz and Latin underground, Patrick Forge has been digging crates, connecting dots, and soundtracking rooms for more than two decades. Dingwalls icon. NTS Radio resident. Da Lata co-founder. Long-time collaborator of Gilles Peterson. A cult following well and truly earned.

Tropical rhythms, devotional boogie, soulful shenanigans and a heavy jazz undertone - this is music for people who really love music.

And this Saturday 3rd May, he's bringing all of that to Eco Park Porthtowan for Tropical Soul All Dayer. From 3pm until Midnight. Sunshine, soul, and serious record knowledge.

I an so full of gratitude, for this beautiful day and for the music that sustains us in this increasingly crazed and cruel world. Two very life affirming sessions over the weekend and a gorgeous Spring day to follow. Thank you BBE Music,the 30th birthday celebration on Friday was the kind of party London hadn’t seen for many a moon, what a coming together, of people, DJs, music and energy. It was too difficult to get around that muchbut from what I witnessed and have seen since everyone played and danced out of their skins…Brighton Sundae was an absolute joy, how lovely to get back to a city that is very dear to me and to play for such a beautiful crowd. A mini Dingwalls by the sea…. this was my last tune, and we all should, now more than ever. ☮️💜🎶

I remember when this record was everywhere, for less than the price of a cup of coffee these days you could pick up this essential jazz-dance. classic. It’s a hybrid rhythm that’s difficult to place, unique in it’s Afro-Latin roll. Evergreen to the extent that I still find it thrilling, the keyboard surge leading up to the two minute mark, the extended broken down outro, the flute and piano solos all delicious in their own ways.I don’t play it out that often just to avoid rinsingthe joy from its timelesss groove, but at the right time it can still light up the floor.
