Posting to prove that I do work. I am working. And I wanna get better about sharing that work. It doesn’t always look like me carrying equipment that I’m terrified of breaking. (I know, it’s just sticks, but even that is expensive to me.)

In my current phase, I’m working as a Coordinator and PM.

In my summer phase, I worked on a feature film as a line producer that put me on a ranch for 5 weeks. I still need to wrap that project—the actual wrap and wrapping my head around the experience. It deserves a post.

In my next phase, I’m manifesting more writing. I’ll be taking a month long trip out of the country and I plan on burying myself in my own work.

This past year, I worked on some truly incredible weddings, putting flowers on all sorts of things, without even knowing the names of them. I got up ladders, I got down ladder. I lifted countless disco balls into the air and zipped about a million zip ties.

Some weddings, I made Malori’s life easier by simply loading and unloading cargo vans, and other weddings, I made Malori’s life easier by her not being there at all. I experienced an immense amount of pride once the wedding was complete no matter how much or how little I contributed to it.

And not only weddings, I helped Malori execute weekend long corporate events, logistics in her studio, and being her right-hand-woman in dressing the Arizona BIltmore up for Christmas.

When someone asks me what I did in college, my response is “I switched my majors.” That’s what I did, I had a new major every semester that came with a new life goal. I was desperately seeking career satisfaction, trying to find “the perfect industry.”

After I landed in *air quote* filmmaking practices at ASU for my final 1.5 years of college, something clicked. My tune changed. Job satisfaction sunk in. I wanted to be a producer. I declared it to the world.

And that I did…I was a producer after college…but not of movies or TV. I produced the fuck out of Iconic Cocktail Co. My husband and I started our business in 2015 and it was my feature film. Fast-forward to 2022, Matt and I had this beautiful business with even more beautiful people running it.

I could attempt to describe what Iconic taught me but that should be its own post. I could try to put words to what it feels like to step away from a business I created but I don’t even know where to start. I do know one thing that happened in 2022….I can proudly report that I retired from Iconic Cocktail Co. Now, Matt runs the business like the true boss he is while I seek out new opportunities.

I’ve been super busy putting together summer strategies for my clients the past few weeks (and getting ready for a vacation in Hawaii) so, all I have to share is this sweet photo of working with my two favorites, @standardwax.studio and @laurenpeachie. More brand goodness coming soon, even some of my very own. ✨

Prepping for a shoot with @standardwax.studio. I expanded on @laurenpeachie’s concept of neutral colored backdrops with these oblong stackable surfaces. They create height and texture while allowing the product to still be the star. 💫 (shout out to @sbarr449 for turning these around for me, in pure perfection!)

Valentine's Day got done in record time and that project taught us so much for the Mother's Day shoot we just finished.

I put together a full quarter of blog content for Standard Wax and paired it with a very fun spring shoot with the one and only Lauren Peachie. It felt amazing to hand off three months worth of content at once. (Let's do that again, shall we?)

There’s a lot of time-traveling in strategy planning. I’m in the calendar, planning ahead, looking three-six months into the future. While it’s still chilly out, I’m mentally planning summer breaks and pool parties because it’s late July for me.

So here’s a gentle reminder that planning is good, but staying present is better. The tricky part is realizing that planning helps me stay in the present. It’s the delicate act of balance, temperance, and patience. 💫
