The latest @dime.shift release from @fearlessdread is out now on full vinyl and digital release

For those who don’t know already, Charlie and Sam were a big inspiration for me to start the label with their Balamii shows on constant rotation over the Covid period

Since then, @sam_arkwright_ left the @fearlessdread project and we’re fortunate enough that Charlie kept it going

We had the honour of going b2b at HVYWGHT a few years back (one of my favourite sets to date) and I’m really happy to be able to get out some of his tracks on this long overdue project !

Dimeshift is a Bristol-based label that has become a vital force in the 140 BPM continuum, focusing on the dark and experimental edges of bass music. Founded and directed by the producer and DJ known as Axle, the imprint is deeply rooted in the city's unique cultural landscape, where the boundaries between jungle, grime, and dubstep are famously fluid.

The label's core mission is to "future-proof" the old-school sound by drawing direct inspiration from the "wild west" era of the early 2000s. This formative period, before genres like dubstep and grime became commercially standardised, was defined by raw energy and a lack of rigid formulas and aesthetic that Dimeshift works to reimagine through modern, high-precision sound design.

A primary pillar of the Dimeshift philosophy is its dedication to physical media and exclusivity, specifically through their series of 10-inch lathe-cut vinyl releases. This approach directly honors the original "dubplate" culture of UK bass music, prioritising physical scarcity and quality craftsmanship to ensure the music remains a tangible and valued commodity in a digital-heavy era.

Beyond the studio, Dimeshift remains anchored in the community through a monthly radio residency on SWU.FM and regular club showcases at Bristol hubs like The Love Inn.
