The experiential and speculative dimension of brands is as important as the branding exercise itself.

Traditional cooking is mainly performed using the arms and hands, overlooking the potential of other body parts to play a role in the preparation of food, with greater strength, wider range of movement, or different expressive capacities.

Through a range of bodily movements, the cooking wall interprets how each ingredient should be transformed. Dough is kneaded with the hips, baked with the fist, and sliced with the legs. Chocolate is thrown against the wall, temperature rising through hand movements. Pa amb xocolata is set.

Students participated in the early stages of this research project during our Physical Motion workshop. We tested how various cooking methods could be translated into different movements by alternative parts of the body. Among the questions we posed was: How would you slice bread with your head? How would you knead dough using your chest? For every method, we tested different body parts and movements. We kneaded, mixed, melted, baked, and sliced with the head, chest, knees, and feet, until we decided on matches that made the most sense.

Through physical movement, ordinary spaces and the way we interact with them are reimagined. The body speaks a language; data turns to dish.

For centuries, hundreds of women travelled to San Paolo di Galatina in search of healing, giving rise to a ritual imaginary linked to the Pizzica Taranta and tarantism in Southern Italy🕷️. Drawing from this story of music, voice, movement and transformation, we developed the visual direction and design for “San Paolo di Galatina”, a project by @raulrefree and @mariamazzotta .

We’re joining Us By Night @usbynightfest (September 24–26, Antwerp) and POV Budapest @pov.budapest (September 16-20) to examine design and creativity beyond problem-solving—working between innovation and speculative practice to use narrative as a tool for prototyping possible futures, where brands operate as evolving cultural systems.
