Hello kind people who care about music made by a fella from Minnesota. I want any and all folks in Buffalo NY and surrounding communities to know I will be at the renowned Albright Knox museum for this lovely jazz series they are having with my standards trio featuring the brilliant Matt Mitchell on piano and the mystical Billy Peterson on bass Sunday May 17th at 4pm!! Going to be cool to reunite that group! Also in the new Downbeat magazine (pic 2 and 3) on newsstands now is a beautiful big feature about the farewell of The Bad Plus. Please check it if you can. It’s beautifully written by Jim Macnie and we appreciate the support from them throughout all these years. We will be on the road the rest of the year, so look out for those dates and hopefully see you all in Buffalo! Go Sabres! ❤️ @bigfishbookingco @downbeat_mag @jimmacnie

The inimitable @googlebully is one of the most unique voices in drumming, composition, and improvisational music. His clinic will be at 1pm on Saturday, 5/16, get your tickets to the drum show and don’t miss it!

“Dave King is a drummer/composer best known as a founding member of the internationally recognized jazz group “The Bad Plus” and “Happy Apple”. He is also the leader of the modern jazz groups “The Dave King Trucking Company”, the jazz standards based trio “The Dave King Trio” on Sunnyside Records, the Julian Lage Trio, and has recorded and or performed with Bill Frisell, Joshua Redman, Tim Berne, Craig Taborn, Jeff Beck, Margaret Glaspy, Mason Jennings, and Leo Kotke to name a few.

Dave also created the cult drum comedy YouTube series “Rational Funk”, and has a new podcast coming in 2026 called “Heroic Enthusiasm”.”
