Introducing the Clock Minis! 🕰️ Hand-built ceramic clocks designed to sit on a tabletop or hang on your wall, each piece measures approx 4.5 inches square.
.
Time doesn’t exist, clocks exist. While they are functional tools to keep track of hours, they don’t measure the value of our lives. Remember to slow down and just enjoy being :)

Been exploring the shape of a box in my making.
I’m inspired by Sama Vritti Pranayama/ box breathing. In practice, we visualize the shape of a box as a guide to keep us on track with our breath and stay focused. The box creates the path; it forms the cycle.
But a cycle can also be a cage. In p6 I’ve visualized what my mental state has looked like inside that box for the past while.
It’s been a process of discovering and exploring creative blockages while staying aware of the tangible presence in my studio practice. The box form is powerful… there is a lot more to discover.

Vase

Material: black stoneware, porcelain
3 1/2’’ x 3’’ x 3’’
————————————
First post of 2026 🖤 I spent the end months of last year revisiting small forms. I’ve forgotten how grounding the process is, from the initial design to the making itself. Hand-pinching requires so much time and patience.
As I am creating them, I’m hoping that the care put into the making translates into the objects themselves, allowing them to bring a sense of intentionality and stillness to a space.

Entering 2026, I’ve been deep in the research phase for a new project and I’m looking forward to sharing the progress with you all soon.

@collectiblefair has quickly become the premier breeding ground for emerging designers in New York, a place for newer talent to carve out their own path and make a name in the industry. And so it’s only natural that one of our favorite exhibitions, @theobjectboutique, has emerged from this environment, a designer-led exhibition organized by Yuxuan Huang (@yuxuan_huang__) and Mimi He (@mimi_objects), two emerging designers who understand firsthand the challenges of breaking into the field.

After meeting at Collectible last year and discovering their shared passion for amplifying independent voices, they decided to create their own platform rather than waiting for institutional support or gallery representation.

The idea behind The Object Boutique is simple but powerful: create a walk-in, shopping-like environment that invites slow looking and close engagement with form and material. As they put it, the inspiration came from the experience of shopping in a boutique, where all five senses come into play and you notice details like textures that photographs can never capture.

Bringing together fifteen emerging and mid-career artists and designers from across North America, the exhibition centers around the question “What does fragility mean to you?” The responses reveal an impressive range of contemporary craft practice that spans traditional techniques and experimental material exploration.

The vessel collection showcases diverse approaches to the theme, from @magpie_m’s wood and porcelain amphora to @sam_indaman’s hemp fiber constructions. @lisasaccodesign’s blown glass vessel creates striking tension by resting atop broken shards, while @monicacuriel.art transforms construction materials into forms honoring immigrant labor, all unified by artists who pushed themselves beyond their comfort zones.

The Object Boutique captures what we love about Collectible and design as a whole: the opportunity for artists to take control of their own narratives while fostering genuine community.

Read our full conversation with Yuxuan and Mimi through the link in our bio to discover what it really takes to mount an artist-led exhibition.

I’m thrilled to be back at the @collectiblefair this year with a very special project: The Object Boutique (@theobjectboutique ), an artist-run exhibition featuring 15 artists from across North America.

Co-curated by myself and Yuxuan @yuxuan_huang__ , this exhibition centers on craft and materiality. The curated boutique presents vessels and furniture that celebrate intentional spatial design and the beauty of handmade objects.

I will be presenting my new vase series. In this project, I explore fragility by creating a vessel using the traditional lace draping technique. Lace is dipped in porcelain slip and fired; during firing, the textile burns away, leaving a thin, skeletal porcelain structure. The resulting piece is visually delicate and structurally vulnerable, embodying both the physical and symbolic qualities of fragility.

Join us @collectiblefair, @wsanyc Booth#M6
Mark the date: September 3 – VIP Preview | September 4–7 – Fair Days

The Fermenting Rabbit
📍June 2–7, 2025, @ Galerie Chêne Tokyo
This is Aiki’s first solo exhibition, featuring a series of paintings, alongside a ceramic work co-created with me. (@aikineverknows @aiki.ttt )
————————————
Curated by me (@mimi_objects), The Fermenting Rabbit is about quiet shifts, strange transformations, and what’s still becoming. It reflects artist Aiki’s ongoing evolution — through making, identity, and time.

🐰The rabbit is a strange little symbol — light, reactive, and out of place. Dropped into the timeline of fermentation, the rabbit begins to change into something unexpected.
