MAKE OPTIMIST | After our latest trip to the desert we got inspired to make this OPTIMIST High Desert Martini. We like using @groundworkcoffee but you can use any coldbrew.

OPTIMIST HIGH DESERT MARTINI

Makes 1

2 oz ……… OPTIMIST Smokey
2 oz ……… Espresso coldbrew
1 oz ………. Agave simple syrup

Sprinkle cinnamon
Pinch of cayenne

Half-fill a shaker with ice, and pour in all the liquid ingredients, with a few gratings of cinnamon and a modest pinch of cayenne. Shake with vigor for at least 20 seconds to emulsify the coffee oils. Strain into a Martini glass or similar. Sprinkle a little cayenne on top of the foam to finish.

SPRING BREAK | A phrase, an energy, a mood. Cult cinematic images fill our heads; Palm Springs Weekend (1963) was one of the classics that started it all, and we are heading there too. But we look for less chaos, more stillness.

Arriving Friday, some cold Cali Spritz from the fridge at the Palm Springs Bottle Shop and a hike up for sunset.

@twobunchpalms for a soak and a scrub on Saturday, OPTIMIST cocktails with an organic, plant-forward lunch.

After a stroll in cool morning, poolside at the storied @casapalma_palmsprings for breakfast and final few hours of desert bliss.
