Once upon a time, certain activities were thought of as unshareable by nature. Running to clear your head. Cooking a meal. Reading a book. These hobbies generated meaning through the mere act of doing them. Today, even the most intimate rituals arrive formatted for broadcast. The run becomes a Strava entry, the recipe becomes a reel and the book becomes a stack shot with a caption about attention spans and a lengthy review on Goodreads. You get the picture - or you saw it on your feed today.

None of these activities are inherently performative. But they've become so because they now take place inside a culture shaped by ambient surveillance, where visibility is assumed, and behaviour is modified in anticipation of being seen. We don't simply live our lives; we curate them for an audience.

After getting her start in the Australian teen drama Dive Club, @aubribrag’s breakout arrived with The Buccaneers, where her portrayal of Lizzy Elmsworth revealed a performer unafraid of contradiction and vulnerability.
