22 million Americans get their drinking water through toxic lead pipes, with low income communities being heavily affected. Efforts to manually identify these pipes and then replace them are slow.

BlueConduit, a Google.org grantee, is a data analytics company that uses machine learning to help water utilities identify and then replace lead service lines, improving water safety and reducing costs. They used publicly available information like location, building age, property values, in addition to other factors to develop algorithms that can quickly determine the likelihood of lead pipes in a given area.

The GRID team wanted a logo with a strong sense of motion, that represented the individuality of the participants and their goals as well as the interconnectedness of the fellowship.
