In your arms, 2026

I made this painting after a friend and fellow artist Trevor King, made me an incredible sculpture in beautiful orange, yellow, pink and greens.

Trevor and I had been wanting to trade work for years and earlier this year, after almost 6 months traveling I was settling down again in Los Angeles, so I decided to reach out to him to start the trade.

We chatted about the trade. He wanted a work on magazine I made in yellows and browns, and he was going to make something specifically for this.

A few months passed and I was going through a rough emotional period, and I felt really hopeless.

Trevor let me know the sculpture was finished and sent me pictures.

The sculpture is a hand clasped around a flower. It's thick and stable in oranges, pink, yellow and green.

I felt like it was the hand of the universe offering me a little hope. Offering me a little beauty in a hard time. Trevor didn't know I was going through a hard time. He just made something beautiful, and hopeful and inspired as he always does.

This interaction reminded me of the power of art. I had somehow forgotten the whole point is to connect, to be inspired, to feel hope. When I look at it now, I feel less alone.

Super Stakes, 2026

This painting reminds me of the feeling of reaching for something good. The feeling of being all in. Living life at 100%, embracing, stretching - arms wide, for each day I'm given.

I paint on found paper: vintage pads, hotel stationery, and magazines, or really anything else I can find. I love how messages appear and disappear in the painting, and how the western imagery and the flowers converse with each other. speaking to a shared desire for freedom, for beauty, and for life.
