The structure constructed from scaffolding (the average height of buildings in Dubai) is where talks were held about the region and the city and included Iyad Alsaka and Reinier de Graaf of @oma.eu who did the revised city plan proposed, and then 2008 happened. Then as now, things will be another and for the care and welfare for all at Alserkal, and in the region.

At the @visitpham to meet the curatorial team for the exhibition: Brand X Editions: Innovation in Screenprinting at
The Philadelphia Museum of Art — PMA established the Brand X Editions Archive in 2025, featuring a major retrospective and catalog. Mary Ellen Carroll is among the notable artists whose screenprints are part of this collection, which documents four decades of printmaking innovation by founder Robert Blanton. The exhibition will open at the Dallas Museum of Art on May 24, 2026.

The edition was created to support organizations that provide medical, mental health, and legal services directly to unaccompanied immigrant children
as a part of the initiative DYKWTCA (Do You Know Where The Children Are?) founded by Mary Ellen Carroll / MEC, studios and Lucas Michael in 2018.

¡WELCOME TO AMERICA! was the title for a proposed exhibition with this material, curated by Ruth Noack.

We will be making an announcement shortly about the edition.

At the Brick with Kara Walker's Unmanned Drone and the Co-curator of MONUMENTS —Hamza Walker, Director of The Brick.

Deep gratitude for Hamza having the foresight for the Brick to acquire ownership of the statue of Stonewall Jackson in Charlottesville, Va., by unanimous vote of the City Council and to offer the statue to the brilliant Kara Walker to create the new work from the existing, that is radical and so aptly titled, Unmanned Drone as being, a "haint" as the result and saying, “I’m just wishing that we could be more open and speculative, and derive learning and knowledge from all the exercises that are in play.”

The other half of the exhibition at MOCA in the Geffen space — features "Homegoing" a short film by Julie Dash and the opera singer Davóne Tines filmed inside Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, S.C., where a white nationalist murdered nine members of the congregation in 2015. Tines's solemn, and haunting performance of sacred songs and rituals so respectively honors the victims who we all see and at the end of the film.

MONUMENTS was Co-Curated with Bennett Simpson, Senior Curator at MOCA; and Kara Walker, artist, with Hannah Burstein, Curatorial Associate at The Brick, and Paula Kroll, Assistant Curator at MOCA.

Congratulations to Hamza for the forthcoming Audrey Irmas Award for Curatorial Excellence he will be presented by the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard in April. Well done as ever.

It signifies use, gathering, and activation foregrounding openness, circulation, and access.

The location on Chicago’s South Side reflects Obama’s formative years as a community organizer (with whom Carroll's family block walked with). The material choices, attention to detail, and spatial clarity are future oriented and echo the emphasis on the next generations —including the invitation Carroll extended to the art historian Blake Oetting who is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow between the Departments of History of Art and Rhetoric at the University of California, Berkeley.

They are transporting the majority of the work for How To Talk Dirty and Influence People, the career survey exhibition of Mary Ellen Carroll that will open on May 21st at the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston that is being curated by Rebecca Matalon.

From the beginning the decision was made to come as close as possible to create zero waste in the process of making the exhibition for the work SHALL by Carroll with CAMH as a willing partner. The transportation was a key consideration in this and to use the EV Cargo Truck— a GM Bright Drop. Fortunately Rute Collaborative introduced us to Buoy and Rute was introduced by the Teiger Foundation who provided support for the exhibition.

To our knowledge and the International Convention of Exhibition and Fine Art Transporters (ICEFAT), this is the first long haul EV transport for a museum career survey exhibition in the world. We also use INO a product made from silkworms to pack the earliest work from 1982 — Black Rock.

Documentary Film interview @ArtOmi on radio frequency and public space in the airwaves for PUBLIC UTILITY 2.0 that will be realized in 2026 / 2027. Special thanks to @franklinsirmans and @prospect_nola when we obtained an experimental license from the FCC to use UHF and VHF channels.
