@znmuae has officially opened its doors in Abu Dhabi – and we’re proud to share our role in bringing this landmark institution to life.

Across six galleries, our team helped shape the museum’s narrative world - from large-scale films and interactive media, to soundscapes, spatial storytelling, across hundreds of digital and physical exhibits.

It’s the most ambitious cultural project in our history, made possible through deep collaboration, craft, and cultural stewardship.

So what's next for HomeForest? While the current digital experience harnesses the power of immersive technologies, the ethos of HomeForest remains focused on creating meaningful experiences that strengthen connections between people and their surroundings.

Since winning the Prize in 2021, Haptic Architects has confirmed that the ideas behind HomeForest continue to shape their work, from the importance of nature to the value of interdisciplinary collaboration, which is a core principle for The Davidson Prize.

Eleanor Greenleaf of Journey also emphasised the impact of working within a diverse, cross-disciplinary team, which included the poet LionHeart, who “brought a really interesting human level to [the proposal].”

The inaugural Davidson Prize-winning project was HomeForest, a digital and physical solution addressing the psychological challenges of home working grounded in the principles of biophilia, developed by an interdisciplinary team including: @squintopera @journeydotworld @hapticarchitects @codatocodaldn @lionheartfelt @yao_mjy @bio_id⁠

The project draws on nature’s restorative benefits and the Japanese concept of shinrin-yoku; forest bathing.

After winning the prize, Journey (which Squint/Opera is now a part of) helped to develop HomeForest into an Apple Vision Pro experience in 2024, featuring a digital twin of the user’s home virtually augmented to bring artificial nature into indoor environments.

Meet the Speakers AIP 39

Silvia Tossici is a Project Director at Squint / Opera, a Journey studio, bringing her creative vision and leadership to all aspects of production. As a trained architect, experienced 3D artist and filmmaker, Silvia develops creative treatments, storyboards, directs shoots, presents ideas to clients and guides the creative team. She loves the craft of creating content with narrative and has delivered major projects like Toyota Woven City, 1221 Avenue of the Americas for Rockefeller Group and the Taikoo Place Showroom for Swire in Hong Kong.

Ryan Keyzer is a Delivery Director for Squint/Opera, a Journey studio, spearheading teams across 3D production, production supervision, pipeline development, and art direction. Drawing on over 15 years in 3D visualization, he continually positions himself at the industry’s cutting edge, focused on crafting story-driven, sensory-rich content across physical, immersive, digital, and virtual spaces.

We hosted a #studiolate in conjunction with the @londonfestivalofarchitecture last week 🎊 – opening the doors to our Cambridge Heath studio and giving visitors a peek into our factory of wonders. 🏭

The team screened films about cities of the future, immersed visitors in virtual worlds, played with interactives, and even showcased a top-secret R&D project on the Apple Vision Pro 🤫 🍃

Tomorrow is #Juneteenth - a day which marks the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation and the liberation of the remainder of the enslaved in Texas and throughout the newly reformed United States after the Civil War. 

The @juneteenthmsm coming to Fort Worth, Texas, will honor, celebrate, and interrogate this remarkable moment in American history. 

Engaged by our longtime collaborators, @big_builds (BIG), Squint/Opera created a film that would spur philanthropists and corporates to step up and secure the museum’s passage from rendering to reality.
