The Quinta chair was designed by Swiss architect Mario Botta for Italian companyAlias in 1984. The chair emphasizes the use of steel tubing and the aesthetic qualities of perforated sheet metal in its design. It’s radical shape remains as relevant relevant as ever within contemporary design. This rare turquoise version of the piece is in great condition and shows no marks of usage. ⁠

Since 1982 the architect Mario Botta also worked as a designer, primarily of furniture and lighting for the Italian furniture manufacturer Alias and Artemide. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the New Yorker Museum of Modern Art, in the collection of the Virginia Museum of Modern Art in New York and in the 20th Century Design and Architecture Gallery of the New Yorker Metropolitan Museum. ⁠

This danish wall lamp is characterized by its particularly geometric shape. The petit fixture is composed of three layered discs of sheet metal in varying diameters, resting gently on a folded triangular base – creating a beautiful soft light pattern. Its small size and essential geometry make this lamp a unique and scupltural object.⁠

It was sourced from Denmark and attributed to famed danish light designer Bent Karlby for equally famous producer Lyfa, from the 1970s. The lamp is in overall great condition, with very slight signs of usage.⁠

The Ombra Tokyo chair was designed by Charlotte Perriand for the 1954 Synthèse des Arts exhi­bi­tion in Tokyo that featured the work of Char­lotte Perriand, Le Corbusier, and Férnand Léger. Produced by Cassina, the chair is constructed from a single plane of grained oak that has been shaped and curved to form the seat, back and legs and was inspired by Japan­ese origami. The Ombra Tokyo chair is an exceptional example of Perriand’s design methodology and masterly craftsmanship.⁠

The Atollo table lamp was designed by Italian master Vico Magistretti and produced by Oluce in the 1970s. This object is much more than a simple furnishing accessory – it is a sculpture composed of pure geometric volumes and light. Atollo is a pure expression typical for Italian mid-century design, which aims at the conscious use of materials and finishes in a poetic sense.⁠

The Bertoia bench by Knoll International is made of solid wood and steel rods and can be used both for seating or as a coffee table. This piece is in beautiful vintage condition with patina and usage marks consistent with age. One of our favorites, therefore only available for hire at the moment.⁠

The collaboration between Knoll International and the Italian-American artist Harry Bertoia has been long and fruitful. This bench represented its beginning, laying the foundations for the experiments on the bending of steel rods developed to manufacture the Diamond chair and Side chair.⁠

In 2022 Swiss furniture brand Vitra reissued a limited edition of 100 Fauteuil Kangourou lounge chairs (1948) in collaboration with Catherine Prouvé, the daughter of Jean Prouvé. The lounge chair pairs a dark oak base structure with metal legs in the original hue Prouvé Blanc Colombe. The cushioning is covered in a softly woven, light-coloured bouclé fabric with contrasting dark brown piping.⁠

The limited edition 100-piece Fauteuil Kangourou sold out within two minutes upon its release, making it one of the most sought after furniture pieces in 2022.⁠

This black lacquered wooden chair with high quality leather seating was designed by Vico Magistretti for Poggi in 1969. A high, slim, slightly wavy backrest in combination with two flat wood panels that serve as armrests makes the chair incredibly comfortable and sculptural. The chair has a quite surreal appearance, that could be part of a dining scene in a Dalí painting.⁠

One of Magistretti’s most famous designs is the “Maralunga” sofa. For his table lamp “Atollo”, which we offer for rental, he received the design award Compasso d'Oro in 1979. A dozen of his designs belong to the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.⁠
