🛸 PHASMID DEBUT ALBUM 🛸
I’m very excited to present my debut album - Dark Forest Theory LP on Taipan Trax 😁
This one has been in the works for a while! Nine tracks spanning the UK bass spectrum that I’ve been working on over the last year. This is the largest project I’ve ever worked on and I’m super proud of how it’s turned out!
Thanks for all the support and feedback on this one so far. Releasing an album has been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, and I wanted this album to have a bit of something for everyone who’s been following my music over the last few years, so expect a few different flavours throughout!
Would love to hear your thoughts ❤️
Dark Forest Theory will be out on @taipantraxuk on May 1st.

Last week, I headed into the @rinsefrance studio, where I played an hour of my own tracks, many of which are yet to come in 2026!
Here are some clips of music I have on the way this year - let me know which ones you’re feeling 😁
Thanks a lot @vitaline for inviting me on to cover her show ❤️

2025 has been the maddest year of my life - I’ve been lucky enough to play in 14 different countries, and to travel the world through music which is something I never thought would be possible!
Thanks to everyone who has booked me, come to see me play, bought my releases or listened to my music this year, it really means a lot.
The support on @taipantraxuk has also been incredible, and throwing the first Taipan event has definitely been one of the highlights! As has releasing my first ever solo vinyl EP on @gimmeabreakrecords earlier this year 🤝
Got plenty of exciting announcement coming your way in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. Happy New Year!
📡 Radio Recap 📡
For this month’s @subtleradio show, I decided to go for a Nu-Skool breaks special, exploring some of my favourite records from the early 2000s.
Whilst I’ve been mixing vinyl for a few years, I’ve never been brave enough to play records out live - so I figured radio was a good place to start!
Enjoy ❤️

Phasmid is a producer and DJ who has been smashing the buttons and the production for a few years now. His sound covers a wide range making him a producer that stands out from the crowd.
This post is a highlight of some of my favourite tracks before his debut album "Dark Forest Theory" releases on the 1st of May. You can catch the premiere of "Lost Cause" on my YT channel or a clip in the last slide. Make sure you give that a listen!

Phasmid is a London based producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist central to the UK’s underground electronic scene. Trained in violin and guitar for over a decade and dabbling in parts of piano, drums and bass, he translates this musicality into a clinical, bass-led sound blending electro, breakbeat, and trance amongst other genres. He is a founding member of the 128kbps collective and became involved in BabyStep Magazine in 2017 (founded by his mate, Josh), documenting the northern scene before launching his musical alias.
In 2021, he established Taipan Trax, a label dedicated to moody, menacing and unnerving productions from emerging artists. The imprint hit major milestones with its first vinyl release in 2023 and Phasmid’s own 2026 album, Dark Forest Theory, which explores dark, driving and unique themes. His output, including the 2025 Hadal Zone EP, is known for meticulous sound design that captures a sharp, high-pressure atmosphere.
Phasmid’s international profile has surged with tours across Asia, Oceania, and North America. Highlights include headlining Toronto’s KONDUKTOR in 2026 and performing on Rinse FM. Whether performing at UK venues like the Pickle Factory or international raves, he remains a key innovator in UK bass music, balancing technical precision with a heavy, driving groove.

PREMIERE: Phasmid - Encke Gap 🪐
Thanks @crazed_behaviour for premiering ‘Encke Gap’ from the new album!
This one might be my favourite track on the release - half time, subby acid breaks named after a growing gap in Saturn’s rings.
Dark Forest Theory LP out on May 1st on @taipantraxuk
Preorder link in bio ‼️
Top 3 Percys: Phasmid
London-based producer Phasmid has garnered a fierce reputation for his hard-hitting productions and DJ sets
His sound combines forward thinking, leftfield sound design with bass-driven impact, drawing inspiration from classic progressive house and trance and fusing it with more contemporary bass and breaks
His label Taipan Trax pushes the darker side of UK bass, featuring releases from producers based all over the globe
Having recently returned from several international tours, Phasmid has just announced his debut album - Dark Forest Theory - which is dropping May 1st on Taipan Trax
Here are three key tracks that inspire his productions:
Dave London & Filthy Rich - Twisted (Breaks Mix)
“I’ve always really loved the sounds of early 2000s Nu-Skool breaks. This track is proper stripped back and impactful, but also incorporates some of the dark, wobbly acid sounds that I always gravitate towards in my productions.”
Jupiter 8000 - Saturn
“This one is a bit of a set staple for me. For a 90s release, the sound design in here is absolutely insane. This one always causes scenes on the dance floor and it’s the exact style and atmosphere of trance that I love - wonky, psy-infused cyberpunk. The whole rest of the album is incredible and worth checking out!”
Pole Folder - Protected (M.A.S. Collective Black Curtain Dub)
“This track is an absolute journey, and probably one of my favourite electronic tracks of all time. 10 minutes of ethereal vocals, swirling synths and deep rolling bass. Early 2000s progressive house can’t be topped!”
