Puck yeah! It’s launch day for Giving A Puck, NSW largest dedicated coffee grounds upcycling project.
 
Big shout outs for making it happen:
- Café partners onboard. Thanks for getting it and paving the way.

- The Reground and Single O teams. We’ve been at this for many moons.

We’re thrilled to share that Reground has received almost $50,000 in funding from the Victorian Government to support the next stage of our recycled bin wheel initiative.

At first glance, it might seem like a simple grant announcement, but this funding represents something much bigger!

For years, bin wheels have followed a linear path: imported, used for around 12 years, then sent to landfill.
We’re changing that.

Reground has developed a process to recover end-of-life bin wheels, remanufacture them here in Victoria, and turn them into new wheels that can be recycled again at the end of their life.

And the opportunity is significant.

At scale, this initiative has the potential to:

💚 Recover 1,815 tonnes of material each year
💚 Abate more than 5,000 tonnes of methane emissions annually
💚 Support local manufacturing and jobs in Victoria

Most people will never think about the wheels underneath their bin. And that’s exactly the point!

The best circular economy solutions are often the ones working quietly in the background, keeping valuable materials in use and waste out of landfill.

A small wheel, but a much bigger opportunity.
