Did you know the World Transsexual Forum is happening in 4 days? On MONDAY 3/30, we are interviewing Charlie Markbreiter (@charliedurian_), co-author of JAW FILLER. Everyone knows that plot and satire are for boys and autofiction is for girls -- and this novel, which critics have called "a searing, noir-flavored lens into the world of terminally online guys" -- defintitely doesn't have any girls.

Join us on MONDAY, as we clench our collective faces in healthy contemplation of this tense novel that "like all noir... exists within a context of omnipresent, lugubrious evil, and fatalistic stupidity." The first World Transsexual Forum (Open Mic and Panel) of 2026 is MONDAY, JAN 26 -- featuring panelist Megan Milks (@sklimnagem) discussing "all things transsexual and dairy." Milk is a nutritious (allegedly) white fluid that signifies normalcy, but also trans people drink it at times? Certainly, it can help sculpt -- or emerge from -- a healthy mammalian torso.

The essays in MEGA MILK explore the author's experience as a writer, naturally interested in alternatives to traditional family structures, who shares a last name -- and also a would-be association with traditional family values -- with the titular liquid.

"I’m interested in that other space—the queer capacities of family, the trans potentiality of milk. I’m interested in what we can learn about, not family per se, but kinship—-that 'radical and open-ended field of relational experimentation'-—through milk. Who and what nourishes us?... I’m also interested in kinship’s milkiness: its fluidity and malleability, its leaky excesses, its variable shelf lives and propensities to sour... collected together, [these essays] might reflect the gorgeous mess of my many attachments, familial and not, at the same time as each offers a fluid container for some of what I have learned about milk."

ON Monday 10/27, the World Transsexual Forum happening once again. We are talking to author and critic Grace Byron ( @emotrophywife ) about her novel HERCULINE, which is finally coming out this month. We have talked about a lot of books at the World Transsexual Forum over the years. Can all that talk really address our collective longing for belief, purpose, and material safety in an increasingly hostile world? Maybe if the book in question accurately depicts the social dynamics of a cult (and also conveys a sense of religious evil) -- then the answer is yes. Which this book does. So you will like it.

So please come enjoy the discussion, get invested, and BRING your literary work (short fiction, fragments of essays, etc) to read at the open mic. There will be zines and literature for sale/trade. As always, the sign-ups start at 7:30pm, the open mic starts at 8pm, and will be streamed on twitch!

The month of September is not complete without another edifying installment of the World Transsexual Forum! It is just a few days away!! On MONDAY September 29, at @franklinparkbk, we are talking to editor/contributor MARGOT ATWELL (@margotatwell) about "Absolute Pleasure: Queer Perspectives on Rocky Horror" -- the new anthology of essays by 26 queer and trans writers who have all had some kind of personal history and critical engagement with the musical and 1975 movie Rocky Horror Picture Show, which we've heard is relevant to some trans people? Why are transsexuals always talking about horror anyway? Is it problematic?

Find out on MONDAY 9/29, and please bring your own (we're sure) completely innocuous transsexual writing to share at open mic portion of the event! And get drinks at the bar and stuff!!!

Monday 7/28: The most sophisticated transsexual open mic in Brooklyn interviews New York City's finest trans literary magazine and culture rag. Join us for a panel between @jeanneticallymodified and @aaantons and the editrices of Picnic Magazine (@picnic_mag), where we will talk about probably the entire state of NYC trans culture.

There will be an open mic featuring intense and stimulating trans writing; famous publications will be available for sale and barter (c.f. @shapeless.press). It will be the culmination of everything you have ever hoped for, everything that it means to live and be. Come through!

I missed some details in promoting my book

MONDAY JUNE 30: the WORLD TRANSSEXUAL FORUM is back. For the month of JUNE, we are talking about high school, and high school tropes, with Eisner-nominated comic book writer Mags Visaggio -- the author of contemporary YA graphic novel, Girlmode.

As always, expect to see writers, intellectuals, and various transsexual publications -- including a completely new horror story by noted illustrator of teen feelings Hal Schrieve (@howlmarin), published by Shapeless Press (@shapeless.press).

Also expect the typical open mic "activities" 😼 (reading poetry )

The next World Transsexual Forum is Coming Up. MONDAY 5/26: another night of open mic and analysis of topics that are important to transsexuals. We'll be talking about WRITING ON RAVING -- an anthology of writing about the Brooklyn dance and techno scene. Will there be cat ear headphones? Will there be cultural and/or historical critique? Yes. The definitive mix of voices discuss the definite activity in the definitive place. COME THROUGH.
