Bridgett Davis
Author of the memoirs “Love Rita” (March 11, 2025) & “The World According To Fannie Davis”, two novels & the newly restored film, NAKED ACTS.

I’m truly honored that LOVE, RITA is on this year’s short list for the MAAH Stone Book Award! I’m especially pleased because these are books selected for exceptional scholarship, and their ability to spark dialogue. For my memoir to be included among deeply-researched works by esteemed scholars is beyond validating. Feels good to be among them.☺️🙌🏾

Rob & I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary in the best way last night: By attending the BRC Orchestra’s Stevie Wonder tribute concert @ BAM! And the highlight was spending time backstage with the incomparable @sandrastvictor. Sandra wrote “Follow Your Heart”, the beautiful song that plays over the opening credits of my film “Naked Acts”, sung by @carlacook577. Rob, as the film’s music supervisor, introduced me to both Sandra and her song. I stay grateful.❣️Such a full-circle moment! ❤️💕

HELGA is a film about rediscovery. Starring @hel.gadavis, this is a story of one singer/songwriter’s journey through emotions once buried alongside her “lost gem” — an album from the 90s, finally getting its due. How will she choose between reluctance and lure?
Directed by @bridgett_d. Produced by @robfields and @mayasymonecade. Crowdfunding campaign coming soon! Stay tuned.

Today is pub day for the 55th anniversary edition of “Daddy Was A Number Runner”. It’s a gorgeous, expanded edition with commentary from @deeshaphilyaw and @fjasmine23 and moi! Thanks @feministpress for keeping this seminal book in print for over five decades. And thank you to the late, great Louise Meriwether for writing a novel that allowed Black girls to see ourselves. This book changed my life, and getting to know its author changed my life again. #gratitute #pubday #classicnovel #blackgirls #shero #harlem #thenumbers ❤️

So grateful, amidst this climate of banned books and attacks on arts & culture, that @robfields and I got to attend the National Book Awards for a second year. It really is the Oscars for literature📚. So many writers I admire were in that room, including those @ my table: Edwidge Danticat (yes!!!) & @atticalocke & @katherine.vaz.94 & @jamiaawilson, as well as one whose work I’m excited to read, @wendychintanner. Congrats to all the nominees & winners. Great night for celebrating the power of the written word. ❤️ After party photo: 📸 @jasminatomicphotography

My memoir about my mom discovered in the wild — or more accurately @theredwheelbarrowbookstore on the left bank in Paris. There it was, on display as I randomly walked into the store! #theworldaccordingtofanniedavis #serendipity #memoir #parisbookshops
My IG skills are a work in progress ☺️. Here’s the clip I was trying to share in my last post:This time there’s sound! At the @luffestival in Lausanne, Switzerland, sharing the origin story of NAKED ACTS’ rediscovery. A story that for me never gets old, & one that audiences seem to love.💕#nakedacts #luff #originstory #rediscovery

Travel nourishes me. Thanks to NAKED ACTS’ second life, I got to escape for a couple weeks and experience the triple joy of a film festival in Switzerland, Art week in Paris, and — best of all — autumn in Paris with my favorite guy. ❤️
1: The Seine is alluring even on a gray day.
2: A clip from the Q&A after screening my film @ the @luffestival in Switzerland.
3: The fest gave me “carte blanche” to program three other films that influenced mine — such an honor!
4-6: Q&As after screening “Losing Ground”, “Nothing But A Man”, & “Just Another Girl On the IRT”.
7: With festival artistic director Julien Bodivit & film programmer Eric Peretti. The fest showcases a range of innovative and experimental films.
8: Black women live everywhere of course, including Lausanne, Switzerland. 💕
And after a 4-hour train ride on the TGV….
9: We attended @artbasel Paris, held @ the Grand Palais, with its spectacular Beaux-Arts design.10-11: So cool to see my hometown represented @ the fair, thanks to @detroitsalonofficial. The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
