German digital artist Richard Nadler @dernadler sees AI not as a shortcut but as a collaborator.
We spoke with him about the tension between authorship and automation, the enduring value of human intuition in digital practice, and why meaningful AI art still demands patience and craft.
"What I'm always looking for is the moment a building stops being infrastructure and becomes a stage for being human together — or alone, in plain sight," he tells us.

Set within the Santa Lucia Preserve between Carmel and Big Sur, this 28-acre retreat by Feldman Architecture @feldmanarchitecture with Ground Studio Landscape Architecture @groundstudiolandscape reinterprets the atmosphere of the Tuscan countryside through a contemporary California lens. Four detached stone pavilions are positioned along a ridge-top clearing, balancing expansive views with a lighter footprint on the landscape.
Guided by site and climate studies, the design uses thick granite walls, shaded overhangs, breezeways, and native landscaping to respond to the region’s terrain and weather patterns. Local stone, reclaimed teak, and a network of courtyards and pathways reinforce the project’s tactile connection to its surroundings.

Kehai House in Morelia, Mexico, a deeply introspective residence designed by HW Studio @hwstudioarq, is organized around an internal stone garden that functions as the home’s spatial and conceptual center. Designed as the architect’s own residence, the project embraces restraint and emptiness as architectural devices, drawing from Japanese spatial philosophy while maintaining the firm’s characteristic material austerity.
From the street, the house appears almost monolithic. Inside, however, living spaces unfold around the open-air courtyard, requiring occupants to move through the elements as part of daily life.
Shoji-inspired partitions soften daylight throughout interiors finished in wood, gravel, and paper, while carefully framed openings focus attention on vegetation, distant mountains, and a single central tree.
The result feels less like a conventional residence and more like an exercise in atmosphere, silence, and calibrated spatial experience.

A rare early residence by Frank Gehry has changed hands in Thousand Oaks, California, ending nearly four decades of ownership by original client Mark Peterson. Completed in 1988, the Sirmai-Peterson House captures a pivotal moment in Gehry’s domestic work, translating his interest in fragmentation and formal autonomy into a secluded hillside residence composed as a loose cluster of individual volumes rather than a singular house.
Organized around a central courtyard, the 4,512-square-foot project requires occupants to move through exterior space between rooms, reinforcing a close relationship to the oak-covered site. Materials remain characteristically restrained — stucco, galvanized metal, concrete block, exposed framing, and unfinished interiors — giving the house the experimental edge associated with Gehry’s residential work of the 1980s.
The property was listed by Brian Linder @brian__linder and Rick Grahn @rickgrahn1 of LA-based The Value Of Architecture @thevalueofarchitecture. Avid readers will remember our conversation with Linder, who created a massive following with his video tours of stunning Southern California homes, in our Archinect Meets series.
