Art House Action on May 25th
#ticketlinkinbio
Presented by Code 10-10 Productions
Featuring Glory Days by @nickmeesestunts and @karlgunnaranderson

It’s time to kick ass... tastefully.

On May 25, the illustrious Slipper Room opens its velvet-draped doors for an evening of refinement, excitement, and the occasional controlled collision.

Art House Action is a celebration of action cinema at its most elegant—an exquisite gathering of New York City’s finest stunt professionals, visionary filmmakers, and whomever else said yes on short notice.

Featuring the premiere of Glory Days the new short film by J Nicholas Meese and Karl Gunner Anderson, this one-night affair shines a well-deserved spotlight on East Coast stunts as filmmakers, storytellers, and creative powerhouses.

We’re trying to class the joint up, so dress to the nines and expect an evening with live stunts, dance, circus arts, and some solid networking with mostly reputable individuals.

It’s New York, baby- let’s get down and dirty.

@code1010productions brings the @87northaction
Stunt Showdown prize back home to NYC.

S2 Ep19 'What is the Future of Action?' is available now for our Patreon supporters and drops Friday on YouTube, the @rageworkspodcastnetwork and everywhere you listen to podcasts.

LINKS IN BIO

There is a weird paradox in the action filmmaking community. Practical action has never been more popular. It is actively used to promote and market big budget productions. Behind the scenes videos go viral on social media. As a result more people are trying to become stunt performers than ever before. Student and Young filmmakers are craving practical action in their thesis films. Yet, simultaneously, performers in the industry are petrified of being replaced by digital stunt doubles, generative AI, declining numbers of productions, etc. So, we wanted to dig into the issue of practical vs. AI and the future of action film.

To do so we invited a group of emerging filmmakers on the show. Joining us on are @dtunguy and @jeffcolangelo of Code 10-10, the NYC stunt team that won the 2025 installment of 87 North’s prestigious Stunt Design Showdown. Also on the show are @BUvaldo218 and @amandawhyte_. Bryan’s NYU thesis film, Playin’ Around, took best stunt performance at @tammfilmfest as well as honors from other festivals. These accolades are due in very large part to Amanda’s incredible performance in the film.

This episode is sponsored by @stuntcontact (Use discount code FFWFPOD for 25% off on a daily or 15% off on a weekly subscription).

Produced by @pressrecordstudiosny and @breakfallstunts

Code 10-10 wins @87northaction Stunt Design Showdown 2025! The company behind Fall Guy, Bullet Train, and Atomic Blonde 🙌

Extremely grateful for the chance to compete in this year’s Stunt Design Showdown. Every team brought insane creativity and passion. Huge thanks to @timconnolly_one @filmiknation for organizing such an incredible event.

54 hours total: 24 to prep, 6 to shoot, 24 to edit.

Our team flew all the way from NYC to LA, the only out-of-state crew in the competition. These are the same people who’ve been with me since the beginning, shooting fights on the streets of New York and figuring it all out when all we had was passion. They’ve been there through every late night, every crazy idea, every win and every loss. Watching them grow as artists and still show up, no matter what, means everything. I’m proud to not only call them my friends but also my family. Never did we think we’d end up here together working on our previs at 87North’s facility.

@jeffcolangelo my ride-or-die creative partner.
@nicholas_robyn_stunts the best roommate, and forever the beer commercial guy.
@aleja.g.stunt one of the most talented and big-hearted performers I know.
@riccardodoublec the utility knife of filmmaking, from AD to rigging to stunts.
@patnatoli endlessly creative (he built that arcade!)
@victoriastambaugh powerful presence, unmatched kicks.
@djharleystunts91 the calm problem-solver and kindest killer I’ve ever met.

We stayed up shaping this piece not just to make it look cool, but to make people FEEL something. We wanted every moment of action to pull you into the friendship, the struggle, the goal. Our focus was always on story first, action second.

Massive thanks to @joshfriedstunts for being an amazing leader to learn from, and to @hankkingi and @shaunaduggins for your guidance and coaching throughout.

Appreciation as well to @jadequon, @cpc132 and @jeffkarr526 for making the process run so smoothly.

And of course, huge gratitude to @davidmleitch , @kmc_87n, @airaware1, and @gregrementer for inspiring the stunt community and creating opportunities like this one.

Shoutout to @seb_stills for capturing these incredible photos!

@jeffcolangelo my ride-or-die creative partner.
@victoriastambaugh powerful presence, unmatched kicks.

Instagram Stories geheim ansehen
