Do you remember B-girl Jade (@jadequon) ? Let me share a little story from my side.

A long time ago. maybe around ’98 or ’99 when I first got access to the internet, I searched the word “B-boy” on Yahoo without really knowing what I’d find. Back then, I came across a website called "bboy.com", where I stumbled upon a single photo.

It was a B-girl doing a hollowback freeze with the Eiffel Tower in Paris as the background. The caption under the photo read “B-girl Jade.”

That image was probably the first time I had ever seen a B-girl. The moment and her name have stayed with me ever since. But ironically, I had never actually seen her dance.

She remained somewhere in the corner of my memory for many years.

Then recently, while watching footage from UK B-Boy Championship 1998, I came across a showcase featuring B-girl Rokafella (@larokafella), Asia One (@asia1nep), and another B-girl. But there was no information about the third B-girl.

So I reached out to Rokafella via DM and asked about her. The response I got was truly surprising.

She told me that the B-girl I was asking about was none other than B-girl Jade—the same person I had only known from that photo years ago.

That exact freeze in the thumbnail was the one she did in front of the Eiffel Tower!!!

A long-forgotten memory came rushing back, and after 26 years, I was finally able to see her dance. It was a moment of pure joy and emotion.

According to Rokafella, she hasn’t seen her since 1998. But I truly believe that it’s because of these “lost heroes” like her that this culture continues to live on.

I want to express my deep gratitude to Rokafella for sharing that knowledge and connection and also send a heartfelt shoutout to B-girl Jade.
