Premiering today at the Cannes Film Festival, Daughters of the Late Colonel by Elizabeth Hobbs adapts Katherine Mansfield’s 1920 modernist short story about two middle aged sisters struggling to redefine themselves after the death of their domineering father. The arrival of an unexpected visitor encourages them to imagine a freer future and begin a different life.

The film is screening in the Directors’ Fortnight short film selection at Cannes 2026 and is produced by Animate Projects, Phil Davies Films and Fabian&Fred GmbH.

Fonic supported the project by recording all voice talent.

Fonic worked on the latest episode of Be Like Benji, an animated series created by Yoga With Adriene and its subscription platform, Find What Feels Good, which aim to provide a community focused on wellbeing and yoga through movement and mindfulness.

‘Take A Walk’ explores the idea that sometimes the best thing we can do for our mind and body is to stop what we are doing and go for a walk instead. In this episode, Adriene takes Benji on an adventure, where she teaches him to slow down, take deep breaths, use his senses, and connect more deeply with himself and the world around him.

We loved creating the sounds of nature across different terrains to add to the serenity of the film, and it was also a chance to continue building our knowledge of American bird calls.

Yesterday saw the release of the final instalment in Pottermore and Audible’s Harry Potter: The Full Cast Audio Editions series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

We’re incredibly proud to have created the Foley for this title, as well as all seven books in the series, alongside additional Foley from Bang. It’s been such a privilege to help bring the wizarding world to life through all the little sonic details that pull listeners deeper into the story.

We’re proud to share that 'Daughters of the Late Colonel', the latest hand-painted animation by our long-time collaborator Elizabeth Hobbs, has been selected for the Official Short Films Competition at the Annecy Festival.

Fonic provided the voice recording.

Following the death of their ill-tempered, controlling father, two middle-aged sisters find themselves at a loss. An unexpected visitor sparks the courage they need to begin life anew.

In the latest series of Peppa Pig, which Fonic provided audio post, Daddy Pig ran the London Marathon, which was broadcast in March 2026.

He is now set to take on the same marathon for a second time this weekend, running the full 26.2 miles again alongside all the runners who have been training for the 2026 race. This follows the news that his son, George Pig, was found to be moderately deaf and needed to be fitted with a hearing aid.

Daddy Pig is aiming to raise £54,000 to support deaf children and their families for the National Deaf Children's Society.

You can follow Daddy Pig's progress will be trackable on the London Marathon app during the event on 26 April.
