Sarah Nedovic
Ceramic and lighting designer, Melbourne
Starting can often be the hardest part. Inner criticism and perfectionism can make it intimidating to create work that feels authentic, loose and fluid.
After studying under @floriswubben at Boisbuchet, I wanted to find confidence in using my hands as the tools again after years refining ceramic extrusion.
This vase is an example of working with more freedom - fast, intuitive, and responsive. Making decisions in the moment rather than carefully planning every outcome. I think that is often where the beauty lives, in those quick and instinctive gestures that cannot really be repeated. I am excited to share my new work and continue down this path for a while.

My first exploration into furniture, and a new chapter borne from my residency at Domaine de Boisbuchet in southwest France.
Built tile by tile and at an unprecedented scale, the piece marks a new method of working - one that remains true to the studio’s enduring principles of symmetry, rhythm, and the handmade. More on the work to come.

I’m proud to be showing as part of Tactile Dialogues: Fragments of Matter for Melbourne Design Week 2026.
This year’s exhibition explores the fragment as both material and concept - inviting audiences to slow down and engage more closely with process, texture, and the traces of making.
The exhibition considers fragmentation as a site of possibility: a way of revealing the hand of the maker and the evolving relationship between creator and material.
Opening Friday 15 May
11am–5pm

Thrilled to be showing new work as part of DONE/UNDONE, curated by @joseph_gardner for Craft Victoria’s 2025 Visionaries program.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The exhibition brings together local artists exploring process, material, and the space between what is resolved and what is still in motion.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
18110E.3829, Ridge Light, continues my ongoing study of extrusion, where form is shaped by force, resistance, and the discipline of industrial tooling. Each work becomes a small record of the process.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
DONE/UNDONE opens 14 November at @craftvictoria.
