For the end of Women’s History Month, I think it’s time to touch on colorism. And it’s effects on society as a whole. (I am aware I spelled woman wrong :) I honestly typed this up in 15 minutes, please excuse my misspelling)

MTV Juneteenth Production
Director: @raekua @byraekua
Being apart of this Juneteenth Celebration is something I can be proud of but even better is working with the most inspirational director I could ever ask for. May this be just beginning of something beautiful for all apart of this production, I am so proud of us and I appreciate all those working behind scenes and of course in them as well for making this a great experience 🤎

I have been crying free Sudan.
Free Congo. Free Nigeria.
For years.
And I meant it.
But I didn’t have the full map.
The diaspora education most of us received
centered one ocean. This is what was moving through all the others— this lands important in relation to my last post in victim commonality! But in my next post I will discuss specifically how this relates to current dynamics in the regions especially in relation to religion and ethnicity. Please comment your thoughts and if you would like the link to the full Substack please DM and let me know :) (it’s much more poetic)

This first post explores dynamics I myself have struggled with being born in New Jersey yet having two Nigerian parents. Blackness, must be a diasporic exploration. This is the first post of a few to come in the next days to lead up to a discussion on my thoughts on Nicki Minaj and Christian “genocide” in Nigeria by next exploring the sub-Saharan slave trade and RedSea/Indian sea slave trade. I will be exploring blackness in expansion to Afro Pessimism beyond the Trans-Atlantic and Neo-Colonial aftermaths that en coat us all.

Instagram Stories geheim ansehen
