I'm deeply honored to have been named the 2026 recipient of the Boris Christoff Memorial Award 🏆. A giant of low-voice singing, Bulgarian bass Boris Christoff made an international career across Europe and the United States, notably at @sfopera, after having been a prisoner of war during World War II! His legacy has continued through his remarkable recordings in the works of Verdi, Gounod, and a vast range of Russian composers.

Thank you to the board and members of the organization for bestowing me with this honor!

The young singers and pianists are now entering the final stage of their journey as part of our Liedfestival: public masterclasses with Thomas Hampson and a final concert programme curated by the scholarship holders themselves.

Celebrating the birthday of Jules Massenet today 🎉✨

Massenet really knew how to write for the stage. The passion, the drama, the sweeping melodies… he had a gift for creating characters that feel completely alive and deeply human.

From the longing and heartbreak of Werther and Manon to the elegance and mysticism of Thaïs, his music has a way of pulling you straight into each story.

And of course, there’s the famous Méditation from Thaïs — one of those pieces that just stops time for a few minutes. ✨🎻
