✨It’s @publisherswkly official!✨

I’m so excited to introduce you to SOMETIMES A DREAM, which will be released in 2027 by @versifybooks

Thank you to the amazing @lueditsbooks and Nadia Aniff for editing, Monica Perez for acquiring, and @sweetbeyond for bringing Alma and Abito to life.

This story was inspired by my dad whom I miss every day ✨ But it’s meant to cheer on everyone as they work hard for their dreams (whether or not their dreams change with the changing of the seasons).

Lorito and I visited Claremont Immersion school, Home of the Parrots, today 🦜

And what an amazing school visit it was! We talked about how an idea becomes a book (sometimes several years later), the power of revision, and the importance of believing in yourself. There were some great questions and I left with lots of hugs. Thank you, Claremont Parrots!

And thank you to @oldtownbooks for facilitating book sales ✨

My first DIY solo writing retreat 👩🏽‍💻

Drove an hour away to beautiful Winchester, VA in the Shenandoah Valley to work on a chapter book R&R. I rewrote the whole thing in first person and doubled the word count 💪🏽 But do I have about three pages worth of revision notes for myself? Yes. Did I decide to add another character after typing “the End”? Also yes. Is there a good chance this book won’t ever sell? Absolutely. But…

This was just what I needed. To be honest, I was dreading the whole thing, but packing up and setting a goal made it exciting. Also, April and May are crazy busy (and the news are scary) so it was nice to force open this window of time and space to do the thing.

If you’re thinking of going on your own DIY retreat, let me know. Or if you’ve done it before, feel free to share tips in the comments.

Instagram Stories geheim ansehen
