CEL Presents: Intimité Radicale 

For Art Basel Paris, CEL transforms the iconic @silencioclub - designed by David Lynch - into an embodied archive of African diasporic futurity, exploring intimacy, ritual and the body as vessels for unbound forms of defiance.

CEL highlights Afro‑Francophone stars from Senegal to France to the Ivory Coast, with live performance from Paris-based experimentalists @lediouck and @bamaoyende, French luminary @lalalipsbby blurring sounds of sensual rap and electronica, and sets from visionary DJs @hallaisdelaboue, @ohjeelo and @broodooramses.

Through its audiovisual and performance program, CEL creates a sensory terrain where moving image, durational performance and sound converge, featuring a pole performance from @stessyemelie and film curation in the cinema from @limitrofetelevision.

LA-based producer and DJ Nikki Nair brings his bombastic, boundary-refusing approach to Silencio for the second instalment of Model Collapse, joined by Dutch-Surinamese hit-maker Lamsi and local Parisian selector NOA. 

Nair's productions move effortlessly between techno, breaks, and UK bass, building a reputation for unexpected shifts and fizzy pop hooks that prove club music and pop were never as separate as the platforms would have you believe. 

Lamsi fuses grime, Afro-diasporic club sounds, and traditional Kawina rhythms from his Surinamese heritage into something brand new and never heard before, with production and remix work for JME, Unknown T, and Bambii that's shaken up dancefloors from Amsterdam to London and beyond. 

Local support comes from up-and-coming selector NOA, one of the minds behind @taxiphone.collectif and both an @internetpublicradio and @stationstation_radio resident.

Three artists operating in the cracks where genre logic breaks down, exactly where things get interesting and Model Collapse is about.

Model Collapse is the new weekly Wednesday night residency curated by Berlin-based DJ and curator @opium_hum.

SWIPE FOR THE BIG ANNOUCEMENT!

Yesterday marked the tenth anniversary of @real_hyper_real, a project that originally started as an event to break free from the constraints of Berlin’s party culture at that time and that has evolved over the years into a radio show, an online community and a traveling event series and residency. I can’t wait to see where it will take us in the coming years and I have some exciting plans in the near future for it.

Today however I’m super excited to announce my next project, one that in its scale and scope is much different from the things I’ve done in recent years! As of this week I’ll be handling, curating and organizing a weekly Wednesday night event called MODEL COLLAPSE at the famous @silencioclub in Paris. You heard it right, a weekly event dedicated to electronic club music with adventurous left-field detours.

The event takes its name from a phenomenon in machine learning: when AI systems are trained on their own outputs, they eventually degrade and collapse. But here, that breaking point becomes a creative proposition, the exact moment when established systems can no longer predict or contain what's about to emerge.

I’ll be working with artist and graphic designer @lion.sauterleute on this, you him from the Hyper Real artworks and his visual work clubs such as FOLD in London and Club Raum in Amsterdam.

The series maps the current state of global underground culture: We’re kicking things off with reggaeton icons @djrosapistola & @djsuenno this week, joined by @couvrexchefs member @ohgodscarlett & myself. Friends and artists I admire such as bass renegade @nikki__nair, tech house innovator @dj_ploy, Dutch-Surinamese hit machine @lamsi, and global bass superstar @zeemuffin will be amongst the many artists making appearances in the coming weeks.

Model Collapse will also host collaborations with legendary party collectives @100einhundert & @hoe__mies, reinforcing Paris’ central position within the international networks driving club culture forward, as much as feature emerging and established local talents such as @toma_kami, @mmmelaninnn, @noa_martins or @kokoprisci.
