With the music and Lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin and the book by Heather Hach, director Beth Stockton did a wonderful job staging a very high energy full of fun production on stage. The costumes by Jan Glasband and the set design by Nick Caisse gave the production its blast or Pepto-Bismol pink with style and refinement. The Actors Rep Of Simi’s production of ‘Legally Blonde’ was so much fun to see with so many broad and talented actors run with their roles.

The story closely parallels the Broadway show which opened in 2007, originally based on the 2001 film and novel of the same name, and it’s about an upbeat, high-energy Californian, Elle Woods, a fashion-conscious sorority president who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School. She overcomes stereotypes, snobbery, and sexism, proving her intelligence and finding her true self without changing who she is.

Elle is Maya Puterbaugh who is fast fun and furiously funny and has an amazing voice. Emmett is Brennen Klitzner and is both charming and perfectly cast in his portrayal of confidence. Paulette is Mary Zastrow who has all the comedy chops and scene stealing moments that you’ll always remember. Professor Aaron is Yaniv Snir, a snide and dastardly teacher with musical chops. Warner Huntington III is Will Palo the unrealizing but perfect jock foil and Viall the Abigail Thomas who gives some rocking dialogue and impressive vocal stylings throughout the show.

What an amazing ensemble of performers: Ren Durant, Emma Yarian, Mia Vavasseur, Quinn Howard, Natalie Chavez, Alexander Kochoa, Audrey Fischer, Lilach Cary, Alyson Santiago, Josh Brewer, Abhi Tawari, Julian Walker, Peter Bryan Fair, Kelsey Dougherty, Tobias Torres, Scott Gilbert, Lex Gonzales, Emma Martin, Eden Nijamkin, Lindsay Roth, Gephart-Canada, Bucky Brynjegard-Bialik and even the adorable puppies Sahara Bedal and Michaelangelo (Mikey).
