100/100 a storybook zine i made for my graduate thesis titled “dark matter objects: technologies of capture and things that can’t be held.” dark matter objects is a storybook for children and adults about computational history and technology.

the zine is a 2-color red and black risograph printed (with @hollyms6) handbound booklet. made with red and black paper of various stocks, grey craft paper, lotka paper, newsprint, transparency, cotton from North Carolina, copper tape, coin cell battery, and wire cable.

i'll be presenting my graduate thesis storybook publicly on ***tuesday, may 11 at 4:58pm est via nyu zoom!*** more information coming soon!!!

in addition to making a zine everyday for 100 days, i've also been slowly putting together this book zine for my thesis! i've incorporated everything i've learned and more throughout these 100 days into the book form.

“This is a story about the language of things. This is a story about the fabric of our lives. This is a story about masters and slaves” 📖

Now on view via The Kitchen’s online Video Viewing Room, “Dark matter objects: Technologies of capture and things that can’t be held” is a one-of-a-kind handmade storybook for children and adults about technology that studies computational history and terminology as it defines social, political, economic, racialized, gendered and other relations that emerge from the systemic structures that undergird the specifications of the technology used by people and in turn, choreograph the social behaviors and rituals of daily life.

Black Study: The Influence of David Walker’s Appeal ✷ $15 ✷ A special limited-edition risograph print version will be available exclusively @blackzinefair on May 9th.

Black Study situates study as an act of remembrance and revolt.

In 1829, David Walker published An Appeal to the Coloured Citizens of the World, a subversive pamphlet calling for enslaved Black people to revolt. His words inspired Nat Turner’s Rebellion and shaped future abolitionist movements.

Through archival images—including from Mariame Kaba’s personal newswire collection—Black Study traces this history and reflects on how Black reading, writing, and study have always been forms of political action.

zine for @thebcrw’s 50th anniversary of the scholar & feminist conference on feb 27–28, 2026. printed on aqua blue paper in black ink by @luckyrisograph.

this zine is an attempt to honor not only the content of the conference but the unseen labor of those who plan it—the typewritten letters, memos, and marginalia that make such gatherings possible.

its cover features art type of a group of people encircled in conversation based on illustrations by Miriam Klein Stahl—a small study in gathering, touch, and attention.

made in collaboration with bcrw’s archives & archivist Margot Kotler, in dialogue with the work of Black feminist predecessors Hortense Spillers, June Jordan, and Quandra Prettyman.

a small artifact of “fifty years of meeting the moment,” with a keynote by Judith Butler + performance by Toshi Reagon—carrying knowledge across past, present, and future generations.

a small artifact of “fifty years of meeting the moment,” with a keynote by Judith Butler + performance by Toshi Reagon—carrying knowledge across past, present, and future generations.

zine for @thebcrw’s 50th anniversary of the scholar & feminist conference on feb 27–28, 2026. printed on aqua blue paper in black ink by @luckyrisograph.

this zine is an attempt to honor not only the content of the conference but the unseen labor of those who plan it—the typewritten letters, memos, and marginalia that make such gatherings possible.

its cover features art type of a group of people encircled in conversation based on illustrations by Miriam Klein Stahl—a small study in gathering, touch, and attention.

pull up to the @blackzinefair tomorrow to see what i’ve been organizing for the past 6 months 🖤🖤🖤

when MK and i had our @sojourners4justice press retreat this past winter, we decided enough was enough - we’re tired of being one of a few black exhibitors at book and zine fairs. now, we finally have a space to share the zines we make for black ppl w black ppl!!!

come thru saturday, may 11 from 11am-6pm - don’t b late bc we will be starting and ending on time. wear a mask bc we are disabled and immunocompromised black ppl who are tired for asking for safety precautions for airbone viruses; we keep us safe etc 😷🖤

in spring 2022, i taught my first full 14-week semester of a class i developed from scratch titled Reading, Writing & Compiling Zines to an amazing class of 16 students!

i'm so proud of our study and the amazing zines we made! check out the slides for someone highlights of work by the students in my class! thank you to all the students: Charlie C., Cortney C., Divya N., Jason D., Jordan R., Lia E., Mercury M., Milenka B., Natalie R., Natasha T., Noelle H., Sapphrodite, Sophia N., Sully W., Zoe T., and Zoe V. 💞

Reading, Writing, & Compiling is a class to learn about the historical ways of reading, writing, compiling, and learning, both with and without computers informed by critical counter histories of radical publishers and do-it-yourself cultures. i guide students in deep study of various forms of printed and digital matter such as zines and posters, and how they are published as mediums for creative and political expression.

i will be teaching a free iteration of this class in a forthcoming season at @sfpc_nyc (where i first developed the class as a 5-week workshop series!) with @aliyahblkmre ~ more soon later! 😇

i started a press with my friend and collaborator Mariame Kaba called Sojourners for Justice Press (@sojourners4justice)!

“Sojourners for Justice Press is a micro press that opens its platform to people working experimentally with print based media. We publish short form and ephemeral zines, pamphlets, and booklets that engage do-it-yourself, black feminist, and abolitionist philosophies. SJP is an imprint of @haymarketbooks and we operate independently in terms of our editorial content and decisions.

We welcome and encourage work from currently and formerly criminalized people; Black people; queer, trans, and gender non-conforming people; disabled people; people from low-income backgrounds; people from non-traditional educational backgrounds; and people who have been historically excluded in their respective crafts and industries.”

U can get limited edition copies of our latest publication by @ashoncrawley titled "Meditation on Abolition" designed by @kathryn_kayy printed on risograph by @luckyrisograph through our website or directly at @haymarketbooks

read more about us at: https://sojourners4justice.press

in july 2022, i was invited to participate in my favorite residency of all time, EUREKA! i extended my invitation to my friends and collaborators Sam Griffith (@sam_seurynck) and Gabrielle Octavia Rucker (@gogogogogab) who spent a week lounging, cooking, eating well, sculpting, plotting, silk screening, photo documenting, zine making, chatting, reminiscing, being present, looking forward, sims playing!

i learned new things, i experimented with different mediums, played with the cutest black lab ever, met the funniest farm animals, participated in the women's studio workshop upstate art book fair @wsworkshop @upstateartweekend, and most importantly went to bed early and slept in often!!! i’ll never forget the beauty and joy i experienced in the sun room.

thank you to Sam, Eden, and Lucy of @eureka_mindspace for being political accomplices and radical publishers who make aesthetic inquiry, rest and creation even more of a possibility for the people who find it increasingly inaccessible to do so. special thank you to my dear comrade and collaborator @woolandbrick for recommending me <3
