The bellfry at St. Dunstan’s and All Saints, Stepney.
The church of the high seas AD 952 grade I listed.
St Dunstan is the patron saint of bellringers and bellfounders and this full set of ten bells C# was cast by The Whitechapel Bell Foundry up the road (reputedly comparable to those in Westminster Abbey).

Mansfield College Oxford have submitted a planning application for their Estate Transformation Project.
For the past 18 months we’ve been working closely with Stories, Feilden Fowles Architects, Tom Stuart-Smith and Skelly and Couch to develop the proposals.
The centrepiece is a new south range, providing 174 study bedrooms, a new Porters’ Lodge, gatehouse and entrance garden, alongside academic and social spaces that support a broad range of College activities and uses.
The College’s original buildings, designed by Basil Champneys and completed in 1889, form the northern range of the site and reflect Mansfield’s non-conformist origins. Our response is a “low-tech” approach favouring natural materials, simplicity, and longevity. Delaminated timber framed buildings with load bearing limestone facades.

We’re delighted that Fern the diplodocus has been recognised with a Structural Award 2025 by the Institution of Structural Engineers.
Presented the award for Structural Ingenuity Showcasing the Creativity of the Profession, the judges said:
“A technically challenging and beautifully executed project that demonstrates the versatility of structural engineering. The team resolved complex post-tensioning and geometric challenges with care and intelligence, creating a form that engages the public and reinforces the profession’s role in shaping imaginative, visible work”
From the outset we worked closely with artisans, technicians and conservators at Factum Arte in Madrid, and paleontologists from The Natural History Museum in London, merging advanced digital design with ancient traditional crafts to produce the world’s first post-tensioned life-size un-propped bronze dinosaur that now stands in front of the museum within the Urban Nature Project.
With thanks to everyone that contributed to the project.

Very proud to have been involved in the new David Bowie Centre which opens this week at @vam_east.
Designed by @idk_office it provides a home for the archive he bequeathed to the museum and which is now accessible to the public for viewing and research.

A decade in the making. Last night saw the opening of Umbilical; @conradshawcross most ambitious rope machine to date.
It is the third rope machine we have collaborated on and the asymmetry of this one which cascades across four generations of counter rotating arms presented significant challenges to the engineering team.
The work is being shown at Timber Yard Here East for the next two months before it is disassembled and shipped to MONA, in Tasmania, as part of their permanent collection.Entry is free.
