The sun came out for us on what was a very special day testing the tile layout for the Cairns Street façade of the Fourth Corner, a new building in Granby developed by @granby4streetsclt and designed by @assembleofficial

These are 3536 of the 8804 hand-glazed tiles that will be installed in the first use of the super
low-carbon devitrified ceramic tiles developed with @matter_at.hand

It was an opportunity to see them at the scale they’ll be used - it’s difficult to visualise this when you’re looking at individual tiles or small batches.

The colour palette draws on the neighbouring brickwork – on Cairns Street façade it’s a blend of terracotta shades and the Granby Street side will be light yellows.

We were joined by people from Cairns Street who laid the tiles with us - both magic and a great help as it was definitely a bigger undertaking than we’d anticipated!

It feels very special to develop the next material chapter of the Workshop for the Fourth Corner - honouring our origins, from Liverpool 8 to the world.

@assembleofficial proud to have designed structural supports for our long time collaborator Big Chief Demond Melancon @qadamawi for his participation in the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia this year with ‘Amistad Takeover’ Black Masking Indian suits. These stands are an iteration from the ones we made for V&A Black Masking Culture in 2019, when we approached the V&A Museum to showcase this incredible artist’s work; who was also our colleague and cofounding teacher at Material Institute in New Orleans since 2018. These solid oak stands have been delivered in collaboration with Villa Filanda Antonini in Treviso, built by Falegnameria Brianese, and with ongoing guidance from Big Chief, Alicia Melancon and David Favret. Thank you @qadamawi @marianeibrahimgallery @labiennale

We have completed the deep retrofit of 10 Victorian villas forming student accommodation for St Anne’s College, Oxford.

The project aims to create a ‘home away from home’ for students at 1-10 Bevington Road and entails a comprehensive overhaul of the buildings situated in the North Oxford Conversation Area.

The reconfiguration of internal layouts provides 10 additional bedrooms - making a total of 82. Key upgrades to the building fabric are coupled with the careful incorporation of modern technology, improving thermal comfort whilst leading to an 80% decrease in operational energy demand and a reduction of the college’s reliance on fossil fuels as part of their estate-wide decarbonisation plan.

At the heart of the project are two key moves: restoring the original logic of the self-contained dwellings, so that they feel like homes and the introduction of new covered entrances to provide access and to connect the houses together. These new single storey buildings create a legible entry sequence from college - which historically would have been the rear of the houses - and are articulated with exposed timber roof structure, oak benches, skirting and glazed screens, and new filigree metalwork which references Victorian garden railings.

Inside the houses, the overarching aim is to create a renewed sense of domesticity, whilst addressing the practical challenges of bringing 160-year-old structures up to modern standards, fit for its population of students and conferencing guests. We have avoided a ‘one-size-fits-all’ strategy, instead working with the unique character and idiosyncrasies of each house.

We have begun work with South East Arts London and Lewisham Arthouse on refurbishing the Old Deptford Library on Lewisham Way, home of the Lewisham Arthouse.

The project to repair and restore this grand building to open up the building to better public use whilst improving the quality of the artist studio spaces is made possible with the National Lottery Heritage Fund, with thanks to National Lottery players.

Deptford Central Library was built in 1913-1914 to designs by Sir Alfred Brumwell Thomas. The building was designed to serve as the central library for Deptford with two branch libraries.

Lewisham Arthouse is an artist-led cooperative, established in 1992. Since March 1994 it has occupied the Old Deptford Library, registering it as an Asset of Community Value.

Our collaborators at UP Projects have created a short survey on the project and would love to hear from local residents, creatives, communities and businesses. Link in our bio.

We look forward to sharing our journey as it develops.

Exciting day for us, with deconstruction for reuse starting on-site at Bramcote Park, Bermondsey. We’ve been working on the design of the refurbishment of this park for Southwark Council with @assembleofficial since 2022, with a strong focus on reuse of features, site-won materials and trees from our previous collaboration at Granary Square. @redcollectivelondon @webbyates @blakedownlandscapes @studio.supernatural @theplayworksstudio @studio_dekka

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of @theplayworksstudio, the independent successor to AssemblePlay!

While we are embarking on this new chapter, our shared mission remains. We will continue to work side-by-side with The PlayWorks Studio to offer playwork advice, design, support, and conversation to anyone who wants to ensure that the children around them are included, welcomed, and respected.

The PlayWorks Studio remains the go-to for helping people and places and to support play and offer bespoke design installations.

COMMON TREASURES Volume TWO is a book we’ve produced that draws together stories from people that are working to transform how we approach rural housing, planning and construction.

It is available to BUY NOW VIA LINK IN BIO, and all proceeds go directly into the production of a planned series of future volumes!

The work in Volume 2 shows that we already have the tools and knowledge we need to transform and regenerate the way we approach planning, designing, building in rural places. From seasonality in construction to building with straw, this book is filled with the experiences of people that combine to make a hopeful vision for how to build.

We are delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted for the new @maggiescentres cancer support centre in Kent.

Aspiring to be sensitive to to its surroundings, the centre will be a warm, uplifting space offering solace, strength and connection to people living with cancer, as well as their families and friends.

The design celebrates place and permanence. Deep, occupiable walls offer moments of quiet privacy, blurring the lines between the sanctuary inside and the gardens out.

Designed by @jlg_london , the gardens at Maggie’s Kent draw on the county’s rich horticultural heritage. Historic earthworks and meandering paths create a rhythmic landscape of dappled light and biodiversity. This is a space designed for stillness and wellbeing.

View Instagram Stories in Secret

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
