What a night 🙌🏽
Grateful for my family, friends and everyone who showed up for us.
My mom’s work is now living in the LES Yearbook exhibit our story on the wall. 🖤
On view until Jan 4th pull up and feel the history
Special s/o to @destiny.mata , @lesyearbook , @abronsartscenter , and to all my family and friends who stood beside us through every step.
This isn’t just an exhibit it’s proof that our stories matter.
It’s our elders, our roots, our blocks, and the love that held this community together long before anyone was watching.
This is for the LES for the ones who built these hallways with heart, for the generations who kept showing up even when they weren’t seen, and for every voice that was overlooked but never silenced.
We carry them with us. We honor them out loud.
This is for us.

I also want to thank @telli_ninjasonik for capturing and documenting this moment preserving it the way our history deserves to be seen 🎥🎬🍿

I miss the ALIFE days… the backyard was definitely headquarters. A safe, non-judgment zone for creatives. A place where everybody from every lane could come together and just be themselves. Real conversations, real style, real culture. Before everything became content, that spot felt like home for the city. Legendary era for downtown NYC 🖤
Last weekend at People’s Park for Lower East Side History Month, our theater ensemble led by @papersoulart was assigned to write a poem about our feelings… so I decided to dedicate mine to my kids.
After I finished writing it, for some reason I ain’t even wanna read it out loud. The park is literally behind the building that raised me… I guess that made me extra nervous. I almost backed out. I ain’t even go to rehearsal.
But with encouragement from my classmates, I did it.
The poem is called “I Been Called Everything.”
I realized it’s easier for me to write my feelings than talk about them. Standing in the same neighborhood that made me, reading something that personal out loud, made me feel exposed in a way I can’t explain.
I honestly ain’t expect people to start crying while I was reading it. That’s when I realized how real those words really was.
That day I let people hear a side of me I usually keep hidden.
But I spoke anyway ❤️
The LES Ensemble led by @papersoulart brought warmth and spirit to the People’s Park Celebration with a moving performance that reflected the heart of our community.
Poetry honoring family, our neighborhood, and the bonds that connect us was beautifully recited by @24karatzzz @212mal @wrecklessgrind reminding everyone of the love, resilience, and shared history that make our community so special.
Save the date June 25th the LES Ensemble will be performing at @centerforwellbeing.nyc 💞

Came to 6th St & Ave D to grab my favorite steak sandwich from Juan’s just to find out they’re permanently closing… smh. Sad day for Ave D.
That store been part of the neighborhood for over 30 years. So many memories in there. Juan told me today he watched me grow up and he really did. We used to watch fights through the window, he always looked out for us with credit when we needed it, and if you wasn’t paying attention he might keep your change 😂
End of an era fr. Gonna miss that spot heavy ❤️
