9 DAYS til @midnight & @ayanaunrestrained is letting us all have it!!! Get your tix kids!

It’s been a little over two weeks since we closed or sold out run of @midnight in London! I’ve been so overwhelmed by all the love from not just the people who saw the show, but the amount of people who have been following having FOMO in NYC! 13,000 seats is difficult to sell when you’re producing a show independently…so thank you to everyone who came, to those who came multiple times. I just got this clip from one of my performances and thought I’d share it with you all. Can’t wait to see what’s next for my special little show. Taking meetings with producers, dramaturges, theatre owners, investors, etc here in NYC and I’ll let you all know how it all goes. The first time I ever heard @jeremybeloate sing my heart melted. I remember being in an airport in Austin, Tx and calling him on a whim to say “Hey, I’m writing a little musical…would you like to come play with us?” He immediately explained that it was the perfect chapter in life for him to join me on this adventure and he is now the only lead actor who has done every iteration of @midnight His story is not mine to tell, but the heartbreak he has experienced in his life is unimaginable so moments like these in our show feel so real because…they are. Come witness his goosebump worthy performance of Richard in Midnight, we open tomorrow night at @sadlerswells_east 🌙

In exactly 48 hours from now we open my original musical midnight here in London. For those of you who missed this magical musical theatre moment when I posted it last year, here is the incomparable @ayanaunrestrained singing “The Dancing One.” This song was inspired by the heartbreaking story of Emmett Till and so many black men who lost their lives for simply being black. The character Ethel is so special because the original Ethel was my grandmother, my biggest cheerleader. I remember her so vividly and every night I get to take. Few minutes to honor her by listening to this song and knowing that she’s somewhere watching my show from the best box seat there is. When I called Ayana about being a part of the show, I had no idea that her late mother’s name was ALSO Ethel. The fact that we both get to honor both of our Ethel’s in this piece is just kismet and destiny doing its thing. I hope to see you all the theatre this weekend to celebrate the re-opening of “Midnight!” Let’s make so music theatre magic.

I fell in love with @racheltucker01 2 years ago when we got to work together for the first time and we she said yes to being a part of my show a queefed glitter! What an icon. It’s no secret that it’s always been my dream to be a part of wicked, never did I dream that I’d have the stars of wicked being a part of a show I created. Rachel is beyond talented, that’s no secret… But her heart and her hilarity is what makes me love her most! Reprising her role as Charlotte in Midnight, the musical… Don’t miss Rachel Tucker‘s iconic performance. We open in 2 days! AGHGHJJHHHH ok, back to tech!

A couple years ago, I bought tickets on the third row to see “& Juliet” on broadway. Sometimes you get to the theater and you find out that the understudy is going to be on and you cross your fingers, hoping that they’ll be phenomenal. On that day, this was the case and let me tell you I was far from disappointed. @rachelsimwebb blew me away with her performance of “Juliet” and I have been the president of her fan club ever since. A fellow Texan, I am so grateful that she is in the UK with us and helping tell this very poignant, timely and timeless tale. In two days, you two will understand why I am a massive fan of Madame Webb. But, if you don’t wanna have to wait 48 hours… Here’s a little sneak peek of her vocal prowess.
