With over 30 years of singing professionally, I’m opening a limited number of coaching spots in May. My approach deals with more than technique. I focus on mindset, identity, confidence and body awareness to help singers connect with their voice and those who hear it.

The things you find during a phone purge…

It’s 2020 and everyone is on lockdown. You’re bored and decide to sing over a beat on @voiseyofficial for the first and only time. You then wonder why you didn’t do more of these.

Just when you thought you buried it, it resurfaces.There’s a longing that just won’t go away. Because it’s not supposed to.

A singer needs safety.

Not the Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard kind.

The kind of safety that allows them to not overthink, feel like they have to prove themselves or monitor every sound that comes out of their mouth.

Have you ever noticed a change in how you sing depending on how “safe” you feel?

You don’t need a better voice. You need a better relationship with your voice.

It started somewhere… that moment that made you second-guess your gift, start shrinking, turn down opportunities. And then you allowed it to shape other moments that mattered.

As in any relationship, in order for healing to begin, you have to recognize the issue that needs to be fixed. And for some of you, it’s not your voice, it’s your belief surrounding it.

So take a moment to think about where it began. Because the same way you learned that belief, you can unlearn it too. Thank God for the unlearning. 🙌🏾

Saw the #michaelmovie yesterday, and I can’t help but reminisce on the good times (and the growth) I experienced there.

Currently living what feels like the best and worst of times at the same time. It’s an interesting existence, but one that is allowing me to learn more about God’s character (and my own). Right now, life is one big dichotomy.

If you can relate, this is a reminder that God is with you, and He will meet you at both extremes.
