It turns out that by using the Smart Folder feature, you can transition from one image to another. So, I thought, why not try it with an image sequence? And voilà—it works!

Of course, I had to do some tinkering, but I hope this can serve as the beginning of a new creative approach for you. :)

I have this memory of summer TV being nothing but reruns. It drove me crazy as a kid. I finally had the chance to spend my whole days watching Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya, and every episode was one I had already seen before.

Well, get ready for my own rerun era, haha.

I’m right in the middle of moving out and dealing with a thousand other things, and since I still want to stay friends with the algorithm, I’ve been adapting some older animations into reel format.

I hope you don’t hate me for it. I promise I’ll come back with new stuff as soon as I can. I’ve got a ton of typography animation ideas written down in my notebook already.

“You can keep scrolling, but your brain already went to bed.”

Lately I’ve been doomscrolling so much that I don’t even remember what I saw ten minutes ago. I wish I could be a more reasonable person, but I’m clearly not. If I buy a bag of cookies, I eat the whole thing. If I buy a pack of cigarettes, I smoke the whole pack. But on the other hand, when I start working, I can get completely absorbed and do nothing else.

I guess our flaws are also our strengths, even if sometimes I’m just trying to reassure myself by saying that 😗

On a different note, I recently started posting reels to see if I could reach a different audience. And the answer is yes. So I’m going to diversify my posts a bit between reels and carousels. I’m still trying to figure out the mystery of the algorithm 🧙‍♂️

Initially, the idea for this animation came from a typographic composition by Adrian Frutiger, but the further I went with my experiments, the more I drifted away from that original reference. I’ll try to create something more structured for my next post.

On the technical side, I’m using the Rectangle Pattern from @cavalry.app and a Duplicator SubMesh to integrate the letters.

You may have already seen this post; at the moment, I’m working on real-life adaptations of certain animations.

A few days ago, I came across a post by @agof.design that I really liked, and it made me wonder how I could recreate that kind of typographic movement as simply as possible in Cavalry.

So here’s the result of my research, with quite a few animation variations.

If you’re interested in the technical side of things: for this text animation, I’m using a Submesh (applied to the text), and I simply animate the X position in and out. On the Submesh’s Time Offset, I add a Stagger to create a time delay.

I would have loved to achieve this with just a single text layer, but I’m using a String Array and a vertical Line Duplication for more flexibility.

I highly encourage you to check out the work of the studio @agof.design — it’s truly amazing.

For this new experiment, the idea was to create a modular typeface where each character can be built, deconstructed, and recomposed in motion, more like a living system than a static drawing.

It started when I came across the “Cube Shape” plugin by @yevgenymakarov, which made me wonder if I could push this approach into volume and construct the type in 3D.
