from august 2024, for the inaugural issue of OPEN Tennis Magazine, published by @the2ndserve:

this accompanies a critique of a 1980s tennis book which purported to satirize Frued, while actually making a bunch of tasteless jokes about tennis as it relates to homosexuality and misogyny.

on reflection, i'm not sure the cut-out creating "FREUD / FRAUD" combined with the dick-and-balls joke adequately reflects the sharpness of the author's critique of the book, but I have become attached to this ramshackle concept, and I am extremely grateful to @dshaftel for not just bringing me along into a new era of tennis publication, but for enabling me, too.

More importantly, this is the first real narrative I've written in 6 or 7 years, and I am very proud to crawl closer to a synthesis between this ridiculous method of using the risograph, and actually telling a story.
