United Airlines is throwing its hat in the ring on two popular leisure routes from Cleveland. 🛫
The carrier on Thursday announced it's adding nonstop service from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) to Miami and Las Vegas. Both flights will launch later this year.
It's part of what the Chicago-based airline said will form its largest schedule from the northern Ohio city in about a decade. Keep in mind that United *used* to operate a hub at CLE, but it wound down in 2014. Tickets for both routes will go on sale this evening.
United's new Cleveland service to Las Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) will launch Sept. 24 and operate throughout the year. Its flights to Miami International Airport (MIA) will be a bit more limited. That route will kick off Dec. 3 and run only during the peak winter season months through early April.
Each route will operate on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on one of United's Boeing 737-800s.
Will you be flying these routes later this year? 👀 Find more at the 🔗 in bio.

If you're trying to save money, it's more important than ever to know *when* to book a flight.
Flights during peak travel periods — like summer, the holidays and spring break — are often a lot more expensive. 😵💫 The soaring cost of jet fuel has made things even worse.
Right now, new data from TPG's partner Points Path shows that cash fares are up a whopping 24% year-over-year for searches performed around peak summer dates. International fares for summer (between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day) are up 22%.
Despite that, historical data suggests that the best window to score low summer airfare prices is already upon us. 👀
TPG's Clint Henderson: "I'd strongly advise readers to start looking at flights now, set Google Flights alerts and grab deals as soon as they pop up. Generally, my advice for finding the lowest prices ahead of time is to monitor the search starting three months before your travel dates. (Though, obviously, you should jump on any deals you find before that.)"
TPG generally recommends booking one to two months in advance for domestic trips and three to five months for international trips. That means we are already in the sweet spot for booking summer trips.
If previous trends hold, we expect to see some fare drops over the next several weeks. Our recommendation is to monitor flights now and start booking. ‼️

This Qantas first class experience is a good example of why you should be paying attention to partner airlines and their loyalty programs 😎✈️
#aviation #avgeek #qantas #firstclass

It's a big day in the world of hotel loyalty, as World of Hyatt — long revered as the most valuable hotel program out there — has officially launched its new award charts. 👀
While the changes were first announced in February, the updated pricing appears to be live across the portfolio. We'll be digging into the full ramifications of the changes in the days to come, including some number-crunching to assess their extent, but here's what we're seeing.
💥Quick facts💥
➡️ 112 properties have shifted to a higher category, while 24 have moved to a lower category.
➡️ There are now five possible prices for a standard room at each property:
· Lowest
· Low
· Moderate
· Upper
· Top
➡️ The old "Standard" award rate is most closely aligned to the new "Low" price — though it's not an exact match across Hyatt's eight award categories.
➡️ There is now additional complexity to one of our favorite redemption options here at TPG: transferring rewards points to Hyatt, especially given two notable features within Chase:
· Points Boost, which can push the value of your Ultimate Rewards points via Chase Travel℠ as high as 2 cents apiece
· The fact that Hyatt stays booked via The Edit by Chase Travel count as loyalty-eligible stays
Stay tuned for a more in-depth analysis of the new award charts, but for now, head to the 🔗 in bio to read this story in full.

It's actually happening: Bunk beds in the sky are now on sale for economy passengers. 😴
The selling price? $495 for a four-hour block of nap time. (In the comments let us know if you think that's worth it on top of your airfare! 👀)
Beginning in late December, Air New Zealand will offer what it calls the Skynest: a pod of six beds bunked three high on each side, flanked by a ladder. These beds are bookable in blocks of time for napping on select long-haul flights between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Auckland Airport (AKL).
If this sounds familiar, it may be because Air New Zealand has been working on Skynest for more than six years. (In fact, the airline has been the first to jump on a number of inflight innovations, including the Skycouch, which has now been licensed to United Airlines as its forthcoming Relax Row.)
TPG's @mommypoints: "I am 5 feet and 7 inches tall, and I fit very comfortably in the bed; a man at the media preview was 6 feet and 4 inches tall and was also able to fully stretch out, albeit with a much tighter fit. The airline says that the bunks are 6 feet, 6 inches long, which should allow most passengers to lie flat. There are also about 25 inches of width at the shoulders, though the space does taper as it reaches the spot where your feet traditionally go. The Skynest mattress felt comfortable, and I have no doubt that lying down in there and resting for a few hours will be much better than sitting upright for 18 hours straight in economy."

Allegiant Air is betting it can help fill a Spirit Airlines-sized void in South Florida. 👀
The budget airline on Tuesday announced four new routes launching this fall from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), which was Spirit's home base until it folded earlier this month.
Allegiant's FLL expansion includes new service to New England and the Midwest — with Boston, Kansas City and other major cities joining the mix.
It's a clear signal that Allegiant is not willing to completely cede Fort Lauderdale to JetBlue, which has moved quickly to add service from the airport and seize the upper hand at FLL as part of a push to make it one of its three largest hubs.
Meanwhile, FLL isn't the only place Allegiant is growing. ✈️
The airline's route announcement on Tuesday included new service for three additional Florida cities, including the greater Orlando and Tampa regions, along with its longtime Punta Gorda stronghold. 🌴
Most of these new routes will begin in October. Head to the 🔗 in bio for the full story.

Travelers flying Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) have a new way to skip the dreaded Transportation Security Administration queues. 🚌
Beginning June 1, mobility company Landline and BOS operator Massport will open a new remote terminal in Framingham, Massachusetts — a suburb west of Boston — with hourly buses to the airport. Delta and JetBlue flyers will be able to check in, drop bags and clear TSA in the new terminal, which is in a former park-and-ride lot, before hopping on a Landline coach bus for the 45- to 60-minute ride to BOS.
The coach will drop travelers off inside security at either gate A18 in Terminal A for Delta or C8 in Terminal C for JetBlue. Checked bags will be transferred directly between planes and buses.
The new remote BOS terminal service is the latest evolution of Landline. Founded on the idea that buses could replace short-haul flights at a lower cost and connect smaller communities to major hubs, Landline has grown into an airport ground transportation network that operates both independently and as a partner to airports and airlines such as Air Canada, American Airlines and Sun Country Airlines. Its mission is to reduce some of the friction in the journey to and through a major airport.
David Sunde, CEO and co-founder of Landline, is excited about what the company's newest offering could mean in busy metropolitan areas around the country.
"The story here is that big airports are out of space," Sunde said in an interview. "Construction at big airports is really difficult and really expensive. Now, we have a counterpoint that is we can stand up, in six months, a facility in a parking lot, in a suburb of one of the biggest metro areas and busiest airports in the U.S. and have it screening people almost immediately."
