For the third year in a row UCL has been ranked 9th in the world in the 2026 QS World University Rankings. 🌍👏
This marks our 14th year in the global top 10, a testament to the strength of our academic and employer reputation, where UCL ranks within the top 5% of institutions worldwide. We have also retained our second-place global ranking for international research networks, reinforcing our role as a hub for globally connected research.
In addition, U.S. News & World Report released this weekplaced UCL seventh in the world in its 2025-2026 Best Global Universities ranking, which evaluates more than 2,250 institutions based on academic research and reputation. UCL was named the third-best university in Europe, after Oxford and Cambridge.
As we approach our Bicentennial in 2026 we celebrate a legacy of excellence and look ahead to a future of innovation and impact.

✨ Science, comedy, music - all under one roof ✨
@_vish_saha went along to Cosmic UCL at the Bloomsbury Theatre, part of UCL's 200th anniversary celebrations.
This night brought many people together, including physicist Helen Czerski, geneticist Adam Rutherford, biochemist Nick Lane, and Olympic Champion Christine Ohuruogu.
It truly felt more like a show than a lecture.
Produced by UCL Mechanical Engineering, Cosmic UCL was a reminder that science isn’t just something that happens in labs. It’s culture, conversation and creativity too.
