The cast of Broadway’s Tony-nominated CATS: The Jellicle Ball will bring ballroom to daytime television for a special performance on The View next week. Tune into the talk show on Thursday, May 28 at 11 a.m. on ABC to see the cast perform from the hit Broadway revival. The episode will also feature entertainment icon RuPaul, who will be promoting the new camp comedy film, Stop! That! Train!
The revival of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical received a total of 9 Tony nominations this year, including Best Revival of a Musical. CATS: The Jellicle Ball officially opened on Tuesday, April 7 and is currently running at the Broadhurst Theatre. Find out what critics think of the revival here. The West End filmed capture of Hadestown will hold its world premiere at New York’s Tribeca Festival this June. For those who can’t wait until its wider theatrical release in July, fans have the chance to attend an early screening, even without a festival pass.
The 2026 edition of Tribeca is offering three opportunities to see the film during the festival, taking place June 3-14, 2026. The world premiere screening is scheduled for Monday, June 8, and will be followed by a special musical performance from cast members Reeve Carney and Eva Noblezada.
The next screening, which is currently sold out, is set for Tuesday, June 9, with a third and final screening on Friday, June 12. Single tickets for the screenings are now available to purchase. Hadestown: The Musical will be released theatrically in North America on July 24, 2026.

Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winner, Broadway Icon and CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL star André De Shields was honored last night with the 2026 Live Out Loud Legend Award at Live Out Loud’s 25th Anniversary Gala at The Lighthouse, Pier 61 Chelsea Piers.
 
He was joined by actors Amber Iman, Shereen Ahmed, John-Andrew Morrison, Madge Dietrich, Jason Veasey, Music Director Drew Wutke, Violinist and Composer Dr. Edward W. Hardy, Fashion Designer Patrick Cupid, and Multi-media Content Producer Lia Chang.

André was nominated for a 2026 Drama League Distinguished Performance Award and garnered a fourth Tony nomination for his role as Old Deuteronomy in the critically-acclaimed revival of CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL, currently running on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre. The show has been nominated for 9 Tony Awards.

Now celebrating 25 years, Live Out Loud continues its mission of connecting LGBTQ+ youth with successful LGBTQ+ professionals through mentorship, educational programming, and leadership initiatives designed to inspire confidence and possibility for future generations.
 
This year’s gala honored influential figures and organizations making meaningful contributions to visibility, inclusion, and empowerment. In addition to Mr. De Shields, honorees included broadcaster and attorney Eboni K. Williams receiving the Champion Award, Beth Brinkman receiving the Luminary Award, and Day Pitney LLP being recognized with the Corporate Excellence Award. Alaire Thomas and Jordan Rand were honored with the Soaring Spirit Award for their continued advocacy and impact within the community.
 
Scholarship recipients included Rae Molina, Bailey Richards, and Najah Kamiliah Flemming, celebrating the next generation of LGBTQ+ leaders and the continued mission of empowering youth through education, mentorship, and opportunity.

The evening’s program featured live performances from Charles Browning with Nicholas Ryan Gant & Vocal Energy Choir; musical entertainment from L-Stringz Entertainment, and remarks from Live Out Loud Founder and Executive Director Leo Preziosi Jr.
