@LucaPasqualino on his desire to play a Bond villain: “I’d love to get the chance to play a proper villain, to really push me, to play someone far removed from myself. And that’s obviously dependent on my self assessment that I’m a good guy, but there’s something so fun about playing the bad guy! I think to play a Bond villain, for example, and if anybody from Amazon is listening, I would take Bond also! But there’s something so iconic about the villains, I’d love to get my teeth into a role like that.”

There’s something fitting about speaking to @LucaPasqualino in transit. Fresh off the release of the second series of Rivals, the actor joins our call from Dublin Airport, Guinness in hand, carrying the kind of effortless composure that has followed him from Skins heartthrob to one of British television’s most quietly enduring presences. As passengers move around, and tannoy announcements ring out faintly, Pasqualino reflects on stepping into the decadent world of Rivals, the appeal of morally messy characters, and what we should expect next from him.
Pasqualino has spent the better part of the last fifteen years building a career defined less by reinvention than by quiet longevity. For many, he’ll always be remembered first as Freddie McClair in Skins, the emotionally charged teen drama that shaped an entire generation of British TV. But Pasqualino has steadily resisted being tied to any one era, genre, or character.

@LucaPasqualino on starring in hit series Rivals: “Rivals is hilarious, and heartfelt, and raunchy and sexy, and all of the things, and so for me, the only thing I initially worried about was what to do with my audition tonally. But when we got onto set, it all just seemed to work. There’s a different energy with a lot of the characters this year, and I think Bas [his character] in particular has upped his game, with his look and his choices, he’s coming into his own skin, and that was incredibly fun to play.”

@isabel.s.larosa on how her upcoming EP, Promising Young Woman, is sounding: “I would say it definitely feels cohesive to me, but there are a couple of songs that are more in that grungier world, and then there are some other tracks. We’ve got a slightly sadder one that people have been asking for for a while. It’s interesting to me because I feel like I’ve been able to expand a lot. We did a lot with strings, and I don’t know, it feels distinctly different to me, and I’m very, very excited. It feels like music I’ve never really done before, but I am trying to maintain my sound throughout all of it. I’ve been very inspired. I’ve been listening to a lot of Phantogram, and obviously Deftones. In terms of strings, I guess early Lana [Del Rey] as well. But I don’t know if it’s really referencing anything too specific. It feels like its own thing.”

The alt-pop scene is expanding fast, and @isabel.s.larosa is making sure she doesn’t get lost in it. Her breakthrough single, 2022’s platinum-certified “i’m yours,” played a major role in her international rise.
The numbers speak for themselves: over 3.5 billion global streams, 5 billion short-form video streams, and 300 million video views. But behind the viral moments and streaming milestones lies a creative process that is far more intentional than it first appears. LaRosa is deeply involved in every part of it, writing and producing all of her music alongside her brother, Thomas, while also co-directing and often fully directing her visuals. When she’s not releasing new music, she’s touring globally and performing for her growing fanbase.
As she prepares for another busy year, we caught up with LaRosa to talk about her new music, performing to her biggest crowds yet, and the legacy she hopes to leave behind.

@isabel.s.larosa on how the stage has become her most comfortable place: “I’ve said it many times, but being able to perform your music in front of people who it means something to is just the craziest experience. I feel like that’s kind of the final step for me in how much I love doing music, you get to directly see it. Because you don’t really get that in any other part of music. When you’re writing or when you release something, you don’t get that immediate, direct feedback. It’s a feeling you can’t really replicate anywhere else. I love it.”

@NectarWoode on how she’s felt about her career trajectory: “I definitely feel like it’s happened faster, because I’ve been releasing music for like four years now. I wasn’t expecting people to gravitate towards “Good Vibrations.” When we wrote it, I was just like, ‘Oh, this is fun, a happy song.’ But it’s so nice to know that people have gravitated towards it and reached out, saying it got them through some times. That’s literally my goal in life, to make people feel good. So yeah, I’m happy with it, and I hope to get a bit more experience in terms of meeting new crowds, doing new festivals that are a bit different. And yeah, I supported Olivia Dean about a month or two ago. Her crowd was so nice and so lovely.”

Blending neo-soul, jazz, and folk with a warm, laid-back sound, @NectarWoode’s music has often been described as the perfect start to the day. Think Sade or Olivia Dean, but unmistakably her own.
Quickly emerging as one of the UK’s most compelling new voices, Woode’s rise has been gradual rather than overnight. Early releases such as “How It’s Gonna Be” and “Good Vibrations” have drawn attention for their honesty and distinctive vocal tone. As her audience continues to grow, she is carving out a space defined by authenticity, musicality, and ease.
Next month, Woode releases her fourth project in three years, Naturally. Set for release on June 26, the nine-track mixtape explores the emotional complexities of everyday life. In an exclusive interview with Principle, she discusses the material, along with her influences, favourite tracks, future plans, and evolving career trajectory.

@NectarWoode on how she wants listeners to receive her new project, Naturally: “I’m imagining this mixtape to be digested on a Sunday morning, when you’re getting ready for your chill day that you’re gonna have because you’re having a rest day. I’m also imagining people listening to this mixtape when they’re on their way to their commute and their work day, and they want a little bit of motivation and something that makes them feel good when they’re away or getting the train. That’s what I like anyway. I prefer music that makes me feel calm before the work day ahead. I just want to make people feel good.”

Principle is proud to present @EdWestwick and @IAmAmyJackson as our April cover stars.
On their upcoming projects:
Ed: It’s full steam ahead. I’ve got a couple of projects that are in the developmental stage, so not really the right time to mention them. But there may be a show that we’re working on. Sandokan season two is being talked about, so that should be announced at some point in the future. And then just lots of daddying, lots of husbanding, and all of that fun coming up.
Amy: I just did season one of my podcast, which was amazing. I’m a Northerner, I love a cup, and I love to chat. Obviously, it’s a new project for me and it’s in a new direction because having two boys is very time-consuming and I want to be there for them. They’re both at a tricky age where, you know, Oscar’s obviously one and needs on-hand attention all the time, but obviously emotionally Andreas at six needs me to be there as well with schoolwork. So having something that’s in the back garden has been really helpful, and I’ve really enjoyed that. I love having a chat and getting to know people a little bit better.

Meet The Westwicks, our April cover stars.
@EdWestwick, best known for his role as the iconic Chuck Bass in Gossip Girl, has built an extensive career spanning both television and film, taking on a range of characters across drama and action, including more recent projects like Netflix’s Sandokan: The Pirate Prince.
@IAmAmyJackson meanwhile, comes from a vibrant Bollywood film background, with a catalogue of larger-than-life roles that lean into the spectacle and storytelling the industry is known for.
But that’s not all: both are hugely active within the fashion world, whether that’s front row at shows or collaborating on campaigns with major fashion houses. A true power couple!
Now, as parents, they’re navigating a brand new chapter together. Fresh from celebrating their son Oscar’s first birthday, we talk about the realities of new parenthood, what’s surprised them most over the past year, and how they’ve learned to navigate it as a team.
From conversations about acting and new creative projects to horse-riding mishaps and Oktoberfest memories, we cover all of this and more in our exclusive Principle cover story.

Ed on becoming a first-time father:
It has been an absolutely surreal, mind-blowing experience. I think the biggest thing for me is having to deal with a new level of patience and compassion, and dealing with my own frustration. You know, in other situations in life, you can tell someone to get lost, you can walk away, you can stop. And when it’s your baby, you can’t, and you don’t want to, even though you want the screaming or whatever it is to stop. Or, you know, there’s poo all up the wall or something like that and it’s all over the place. You’ve got to find a way to deal with your emotions as well, because the child can’t deal with theirs.
Amy on how motherhood has changed her:
I think time is also the most valuable currency when you have children. You spend all your time with them, but obviously you’re still ambitious and still creative, and you still have your identity as a person yourself. But then you’ve got this other role as a mother, so it really sharpens that sense of purpose and what you put your time into. Even if you forget all of that, Instagram will remind you with videos of other parents saying you’ve only got one summer with your baby, three summers with your toddler, five summers with your teenager, and then you’re like, oh God, great, yeah, okay.
