🌍🌼🗡️ happy earth day from the strange grass creature that lives inside my arm

I'm so so stoked on this design, and I couldn't wait any longer to share it. Adventure Time has lots of amazing and somewhat horrifying moments in it where Finn is confronted with the surrealness of having a body, and I wanted to capture that in a way that shows how close jake is to finn's heart hahaha

Only about a week left to join the sticker club to pick up these stickers, and I'll be wrapping the rest of the sticker sheet here soon : )

a very ping pong the animation inspired design!

had fun getting back into krita on this one, super capable drawing program!! I probably could have rendered this out in grease pencil, but it was nice just using krita on my android tablet with a little short cut keyboard!

if you haven't seen ping pong the animation, I super recommend it, such a phenomenal story that really inspires that part of me that wants to work hard and strive to become all I can be!

Thank you so much to Patreon for everything! They've been such a huge help in bringing all of us together for this retreat, and I'm so grateful that we could be a small part of their huge mission to build a space on the internet for us to discover art without the drain of attention-algorithms.

When I started creating online back in 2021, I was sucked into the same carnival games as so many creators that I had to start creating for the algorithm for a chance to go viral and be successful in whatever I loved doing. I got really into it. I would talk through the psychology of my video ideas, I would do all the little tricks to create suspense in the hook, not because I thought it would make people connect with my art, but because I thought it would keep people's attention.

It was a pretty gross feeling even when a video did well, and I'm really grateful that I snapped out of it by the time I started really connecting with my community offline. Looking back, nothing much came out of those "successful" videos, but some of the greatest moments in my life have been thanks to algorithms helping me discover people that I truly, deeply connect with. I wouldn't know @meganhaponenko if it weren't for us seeing each other's videos 4 years ago. I wouldn't have met @kurobite who invited me to the first art market I ever went to. I wouldn't be making this video about all of these wonderful creators in my life if it weren't for some algorithm.

So I can only imagine how amazing the internet will be when we start optimizing for those real connections without rewarding rage bait and outrage and all the slop that so often distracts us from why we all got online to begin with.

Thanks so much to everyone who has connected with my art online, especially to all of you who have been so kind to support me on Patreon or at my art markets. I think about the little moments of meeting you all at art markets all the time, and it keeps me going even when I feel burnt out on being online. I couldn't do this without all of you <3 so thanks for being here.

I've been getting some really fun results using Blender's compositor to fuzz some edges based on value then running a kuwahara to denoise. I've also applied a paper texture displaced based on hue to give each shape a distinct seam on the texture to make the effect less static.

This year, I've slowed down with the sticker club to allow myself a bit more time to work on larger projects like Songs of the Shore, but I'm finally sending out a new batch of stickers for supporters in April!

I had a lot of fun running the monthly sticker club in previous years, but it was difficult to carve time out for the larger projects while always being in sticker club mode! It means a lot to have all your support for my work, and I'm so grateful I get to keep creating every day!

If you haven't kept up with the sticker club changes, main thing is now the sticker rewards are based on all time support rather than what tier you're in! As long as you've supported $8+ in the past, I'll be sending you a sticker sheet, and I'll be sending extra goodies for pals who have supported extra! I'll have a more detailed breakdown over on my Patreon!
