Next up in our Sports Center themed spots for MLB, we have our Rain Delay spot with Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw getting into shenanigans and causing trouble around the office.
This spot took some thought and planning to figure out how best to execute the fire sprinkler gag so we didn’t soak the entire conference room and get in trouble for real with the location. How do you think it turned out?

The final spot of our MLB rivals campaign with Bryce Harper and Joe Davis. The schedule on this project was a puzzle because we only had the guys for three hours, but we had three spots in completely different rooms to film, each with their own challenges: the bathroom had the bubble bath gag, the kitchen had our food, smoking oven and complete rewrap of the counter tops, and the bedroom was just a very tight space and challenging to plot and light.
The answer was to prep and orchestrate everything the first half of the day: the art department, the lighting, every camera position, Lens and angle with stand ins so that when it came time, we could move rapidly and efficiently through all of our setups and maximize every moment with Bryce and Joe for shooting.
We pulled it off, in no small part due to a fantastic team, and one more time, here they are:

The second of our three MLB Rivals Spots, and this one has a fun bit of BTS to go with it. Joe Davis had to be in the bathtub for this shot and we obviously didn’t want to get him wet if we didn’t have to, but more importantly it was the FIRST of the three spots we filmed that day, so we had to keep him dry for the rest.
We all put our heads together and Art Director Travis Slagle built a frame to put in the tub that would rest above Joe, with a base layer of bubble wrap to simulate the layer shape of bubbles, and then a special concoction poured over that which created lasting bubble bath foam for hours while we prepped the shot.
In the end, Joe looked the part and sold the gag and only a smidge of bubble foam ever touched his tie.

The first of FIVE commercials we shot in just one day a with some big league talent, this one featuring Mike Trout, Clayton Kershaw and Nick Kurtz. They’re great players for sure, but Jimmy just felt like the right pick this time. We filmed in a senior living community (with no shortage of small dogs), a human milk lab, and featured work happening at the Human Performance Alliance (working on getting my digital twin made as we speak).
