Here we are living in Colorado at the end of our 2nd Summertime. Now, with 3 kids, more messes and less time to focus on anything except tiny feet playing in the yard and going to bed happy. It’s a total miracle to capture any of it, piece it together and look at these chaotic moments in a new light, because it’s easy to miss them in real time.

The season has been one of our favorites yet and this string-out truly feels like an accurate depiction of our well-spent time and efforts creating these memories as a family. So thankful for @elizabethflann1 and her strength and energy to make sure we thrive from day to day.

We’re keeping our eyes on summer just a little longer as the season comes to its end, but I know the next ones will be just as beautiful!

I had the best time writing & recording this track for a South Dakota Tourism campaign with @gnarlybay . Capturing the soul of the Midwest demanded a handcrafted, wild west, folksy song. It also may have been a bucket list item that I accidentally crossed off.

This is, of course, a highlight reel of the season we find ourselves in, with many hard and painful moments between them. But overall we have been saturated with a profound thankfulness. When so much around us feels out of control and wholly evil, it’s a helpful practice to focus inward, at the divine provision of our day to day. Letting goodness reign.
