Today we highlight the work of Elena Sohmen (@666fail), featured in “Notes on Looking” at Floor 0.
Elena Sohmen (1999) is a Spanish German interdisciplinary artist and curator whose practice moves across photography, performance, video, painting, ceramics, and inclusive dance. Her work explores questions of power, accessibility, and perception, weaving together personal and collective narratives.
Often using public space as a photographic studio, Sohmen transforms everyday environments into sites of artistic production, challenging traditional hierarchies and opening up new ways of engaging with art. Working closely with friends and collaborators, her process is intimate and collective, positioning the everyday as both subject and material.
Through strategies of appropriation, decontextualization, and the use of visual clichés, her images, while seemingly harmonious, carry subtle tensions that reveal underlying structures of power, gender, and ableism, inviting us to look again at what feels familiar.
“Notes on Looking” is a group exhibition that brings together photographic practices exploring different ways of observing and interpreting the contemporary world, where the act of looking itself is constantly questioned.
Presented within the framework of @phof_mallorcaphotofest
Supported by @conselldemca
📍 Galeria Reus: Carrer d’En Vilanova, 8A, Palma
🗓️ On view until the end of May
🕢 Tuesday to Friday 11:00 h - 18:00 h / Saturday 11:00 h - 14:00 h

What else can happen?
Author: Elena Sohmen
Book design: Sara Miguel @saraxnz
Format: Paperback
Size: 14.8 × 21 cm
Pages: 172
Price: 45€
Language: Spanish/English
What Else Can Happen? brings together two years marked by deep losses: I got hacked and lost all my money, the death of my beloved grandfather, the cancellation of an ambitious project in Los Angeles, and the heartbreaking passing of my cousin who was my pillar and confidante. Through intimate and emotional writing, I share how these events reshaped my world, contrasting them with bright, idyllic pictures taken during the same period. These were moments of calm and beauty that helped me stay afloat.
It hopes to speak to those who have experienced loss, offer a hug for the warm days (as my cousin would say), a companion for those trying to find themselves again, and a gentle reminder that, even after everything falls apart, something beautiful remains.
Many thanks to Sara Miguel for sharing her talent with me, for understanding me so deeply, and for deciphering my brain and ideas the way you always do. Thank you for this beautiful book design and for this amazing cover. A thousand thanks for sailing with me on this adventure, making my vision possible, and adding your own vision and great taste as always. And thank you so much for these lovely product photos — and special thanks to Geray Mena as well.
This Saturday the 13th see you in Fünwa @5er.berlin in Berlin from 17:00 to 22:00 to celebrate the book release together, with my great friends and @miss_construedd @julius.steinke @twoheavenstwoseater @earthly__delights__ DJs plus drinks.
You can buy the physical book on December 13th in Berlin, or I can hand-deliver it in Palma de Mallorca or Madrid.
For the rest of the world, it’s available online (link in bio).
And thanks to everyone who is part of this book. I love my friends so much. A special mention to my aunt and uncle, who surprise me every day with their strength and are an example to follow in my life.

The Instagram Story Viewer is an easy tool that lets you secretly watch and save Instagram stories, videos, photos, or IGTV. With this service, you can download content and enjoy it offline whenever you like. If you find something interesting on Instagram that you’d like to check out later or want to view stories while staying anonymous, our Viewer is perfect for you. Anonstories offers an excellent solution for keeping your identity hidden. Instagram first launched the Stories feature in August 2023, which was quickly adopted by other platforms due to its engaging, time-sensitive format. Stories let users share quick updates, whether photos, videos, or selfies, enhanced with text, emojis, or filters, and are visible for only 24 hours. This limited time frame creates high engagement compared to regular posts. In today’s world, Stories are one of the most popular ways to connect and communicate on social media. However, when you view a Story, the creator can see your name in their viewer list, which may be a privacy concern. What if you wish to browse Stories without being noticed? Here’s where Anonstories becomes useful. It allows you to watch public Instagram content without revealing your identity. Simply enter the username of the profile you’re curious about, and the tool will display their latest Stories. Features of Anonstories Viewer: - Anonymous Browsing: Watch Stories without showing up on the viewer list. - No Account Needed: View public content without signing up for an Instagram account. - Content Download: Save any Stories content directly to your device for offline use. - View Highlights: Access Instagram Highlights, even beyond the 24-hour window. - Repost Monitoring: Track the reposts or engagement levels on Stories for personal profiles. Limitations: - This tool works only with public accounts; private accounts remain inaccessible. Benefits: - Privacy-Friendly: Watch any Instagram content without being noticed. - Simple and Easy: No app installation or registration required. - Exclusive Tools: Download and manage content in ways Instagram doesn’t offer.
