🎱❤️8 BALL NEEDS YOUR HELP - FUNDRAISING UPDATE❤️🎱

First and foremost, we want to thank every single person who was made a donation to our fundraiser, or spread the word. As of today, we have raised just over $8,000. The support we have received so far means the world!

We are still $11,850 short of our original $20,000 goal, and with our current lease ending in August, we may not be able to continue operating out of a physical space in the fall. The funds we are hoping to raise through our current campaign will only cover our most basic needs — paying the remainder of the rent for our Chinatown office and preparing for a potential move in the fall.

To be able to provide printing resources to ~200 members and allied groups, broadcast dozens of weekly radio shows, produce apparel, support TV production and keep our equipment in good shape, the amount we need to raise is even higher.

We have been operating as an independent, volunteer-run collective for 13 years, and need your support to continue providing a vital gathering space for individuals of all ages and identities to get inspired, build lasting connections, and create amazing zines, videos, radio shows, events, and merch, while feeling a sense of shared ownership over the space and its operations.

We have launched a fundraising campaign via Fractured Atlas for the remaining funds we need to keep the lights on. The current campaign allows you to make a one-time donation without creating an account, while recurring donors will be asked to register an account. As a way to thank you for your support, we have added a reward system — by donating you can claim a mystery merch item or a piece of art lovingly drawn by our volunteers.

8ball takes over Woodside this Sunday as our selectors spin from 12-5pm in collaboration with Woodside on the Move.

Second episode of It’s Casual with first guest HANNAH ! We will improvise a collaborative found poem on air with language from our texts, emails, slack, voicemails, etc. This is a show about everyday communication. We may talk. We may also play songs that incorporate everyday communication: kids baiting each other, the language of wind, etc.
