We launch the first edition of 𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡, a new 90mil event series aimed at boosting accessibility in nightlife and bringing back affordability to the rave. Heavyweight line-ups for 𝙁𝙄𝙑𝙀 𝙀𝙐𝙍𝙊 𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙍𝙔 all night long.

For our first edition, we welcome Montreal’s 𝗦𝗜𝗠 the ‘slow-tech’ innovator, a genre and philosophy which mutates influences from dub, dancehall, techno and jungle into a new rhythmic blend.

The talented sound designer and bass DJ, 𝗠𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗘 𝗩Ô𝗦, joins from LA on their Europe tour. Aside from their tight selections and productions, Vôs is also committed to skill-sharing with other FLINTA and LGBTQ+ artists via Ableton workshops and audio production classes for non-profit organisations.

𝗢𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗬𝗔 𝗕, the artist formerly known as AUCO, joins lowdown. The Berlin- and London-based DJ fuses UK bass with global club sounds. Their AAJ Radio show, “Bass Breaks and Bacchanal,” dives into UK bass, Dancehall, and Caribbean-infused club energy.

Local artist and Cancunese DJ, 𝗥𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗭, opens the night next Friday. He has made a number of releases on Appendix.files, merging dub techno influences with ‘ADHD-ambient’ and wonky rhythms.

This event is powered by @angel.audio.soundsystem from @femmebassmafia - a femme-built 4-way deep-bass soundsystem.

The label, which operates at the fringes of the scene, has fast made a name for itself among tastemakers far and wide for platforming some of the most cutting-edge sounds in contemporary club music.

90mil will showcase the artistry of some of Yuku’s long-standing collaborators as well as fresher additions to their mind-bending catalogue.

UK-based Bermudan multi-percussionist and producer Obeka returns to 90mil with his high-energy polyrhythmic live set. German-based IDM-leaning Cleo AD also performs his debut live set at 90mil.

On the decks, local producer and Low End Therapy label head Monibi opens the night. Leese joins from Brussels to close the evening with her forward-focused bass selections after the live performances.

In August, we headed to Berlin with Studio Monkey Shoulder for Is That All There Is? – a weekend long celebration of @90mil___ – a DIY music venue that transformed a derelict building into a hub for community, creativity and Berlin’s counter-cultural scene.
